Mirra forces a 3rd set by taking set 2 6-4. Amazing ability to refocus after that tough 1st set. Anybody's match at this point.

Wow, great comeback from Mirra to take the Indian Wells crown 2-6 6-4 6-3. She is going to win many big titles over her career.

I expected Draper to win today but this is just a beat down.

Yeah, Rune had a tough day, but I don't think too many guys were beating Jack Draper today, his serve and forehand were both en fuego.

For a few weeks he has been the best male player in the world. It will be interesting to see if he can carry this into Miami.

Gabriel Diallo won his first Miami qualifying match over Yosuke Watanuki 6-1 6-7 6-3. Watunuki made it to the round of 16 in IW ergo this was a nice win for Gabriel. He takes on Brandon Holt on Tuesday.

Joao Fonseca vs. Learner Tien is a 1st round match in Miami. That's a shame that one of these young guys is going to be eliminated right off the hop.

Looks like Mboko's torrid season is continuing at the WTA level....off to a great start and about to close out set 1 against Osorio who is a fairly established player.

Yeah, it got sticky toward the end of the first set, but Victoria was able to close it out 7-5. The match is on TSN5 for those close to a tv (or you can stream it as well).

Victoria hanging in there against Osorio who is playing some fine tennis in front of a pro Colombian crown in Miami.

Wow, what a performance from Victoria defeating Camila Osorio (who is ranked over 100 spots higher) 7-5 5-7 6-3. Incredible tennis from the 18 year old today.

Was happy to finally see her play a full match. There is a lot to like about her game not being based on power, but just solid ground strokes, lethal accuracy and a willingness to setup points. She certainly has the ability to rip the ball when she's ready, but it is all very calculated.
I think she is going to be a heck of a player and has an ideal body type to play today's game. This next match against a power hitter like Badosa will be a great building block win or lose.

Three years ago at the ripe old age of 15, she won the Saskatoon Challenger event for her first professional title. She's battled through some injuries since that time, but is fully healthy now and tearing it up in 2025.

You've really got to sympathize with these guys who are 70, 80 and 90 ranked in the world. It's pretty brutal they have no place to play at an ATP level during these events (basically the entire month of March) if they don't survive qualifying.
The tour needs to either expand the draws at 1000s or start adding smaller 250s in the second weeks of these events. Vancouver and another U.S. city could easily hold a 250 during weeks of the 10th-16th and 24th - 30th.
