Well im going to be going back to school in september , but still don't know which school i should attend. Ive heard both good and bad things about both schools. If i goto sait i would go into Business Admin. and and MR i would take Bachelor of Commerce with University transfer.. Which school would be considered more when i apply for a job? which one would i get a better starting salary?

Well I'm not sure if I understand your post but if I read correctly you would go on to Uni after Mt Royal to get your B Comm?
If so this is definately the route to take. The U of C has one of the most respected commerce programs in the nation. Moreover, a degree from a University degree will always mean more in the business community than something from MRC or SAIT.

If you want business/commerce, go to Mount Royal.
UofC gives crap for credit for Sait students.

With apologies to the respective students, I'd say it doesn't matter. At least for future prospects.
4 year Degree vs. 2 or 3 year Diploma matters, but not where either came from.
The better question, IMO, is what field are you going into, and which one has the best relationships in that field?

The average salary for a BComm from U0fC is around $38,000 , but a lot will depend on concentration.
As someone mentioned earlier Haskayne school of business is well regarded, which would help if looking for a job outside of Calgary later on.
Also if you choose to go the SAIT route you can always go down to UofL, where I believe a majority of your courses are transferable.

Go with Mount Royal. At least you will be able to transfer you credits to just about any university in the country if you so choose. Will not be the same if you go to SAIT.
Mind you, I am biased against SAIT, as I have gone there. Did not have a good experiance, therefore will not endorse that school.

If you can, try getting into U of C first so to avoid culture shock if/when you transfer. If you're planning on tranferring either way, go to Mt Royal as you can actually transfer credits from it. But planning on transferring so to get your BComm is definately a great plan.

Hiya,
New to the forum, but a lurker for like 2 years(hehe)
Had to reply to this because, I am a Mt Royal International Business student in my second year, and here's the scoop--right now a 4 yr applied degree is about as good of a choice as you can make(provided it's offered in the field you want). One of the big things is that when MRC gets U status(which many of my profs are on the commitee for the changeover) you will be able to finish your degree then take another semester or two to get a regular bcom--so in my case, I will have an applied bach, a reg bach, and then also CITP designation, so It's a great deal, most of the people in my program actually left the U business program(like myself).
Anyway, my 2 cents.

Yup, go the MRC route and transfer to the U of C. I'm in Haskayne, and it's apparently easier to get into the faculty going through MRC than it is direct transfer. I never did that route (I started at U of C and transferred into the faculty in my 3rd year), but I hear people who go that way and find it much easier to both get in and cope with the required work load.
Don't know much about the SAIT program, but I imagine eventually getting an official BComm degree has a more elevated status than a Business diploma.
