Yeah I didn't like the play by Zary and he deserves a game or two for it but would some consistency be too much to ask? The hit on Bahl was as egregious as they come and a textbook example of a dangerous hit from behind.

In person doesn’t mean 5 or more, it only gives the option of a 5+ game suspension but not a guarantee it will be over that.

I really don't think he meant to, he just saw the big hit and reacted...still responsible. The injury and the media are the reason for the hearing though.

Not quite. A suspension cannot be 5 or more games if the hearing is not in person, but in person does not necessarily mean the suspension will be 5 or more games.

It's more likely Pospisil and Sharangovich or a different call-up from the AHL. Kerins didn't play centre, only on the wing, when he was up, IIRC.

Watched the replay. He didn't put as much butter on it as he could have if it was malicious. If it was called 5 and game immediately, there might not even be followup past a 50K fine.

I think there should be some sort of rule that jumping a player after a clean hit becomes a double minor.
I want to encourage the type of hit on Kadri not discourage it.

I thought Kerins - Legor - Pelts looked quite good in their limited time together. He could be a good option to put on Legor's wing.
If Zary's suspended and Backlund's out any length of time I would probably try to use Kadri on a more defensive line, while trying Huberdaeu with Frost, and giving them the easy matchups.
Huberdeau - Frost - Coronato
Farabee - Kadri - Pospisil
Kerins - Sharngovich - Coleman
Lomberg - Rooney - Stromgren
Those forward lines look very thin.

Oh I'm sure that Kerins has work to do on his 2-way game. But high PDO isn't just luck. We need players who can make plays in the offensive zone. Not all "high danger" chances are the same. Kerins is a player who can help the team offensively. If he drops off, he drops off but someone who actually contributes to goals is at least as important as contribution to expected goals and corsi.
