I think that Das Dinger is pissy cause he got smacked into sputtering mutterings on CBC because he was trotting out the UCP line and he was reminded that the feds built the Trans Mountain...I think that's why the last quarter of his 'column' was all about TMX wasn't enough for all that he feels 'Alberta' does for 'Canada'.

His recent Carney / PP / Trudeau articles have been an unusual, even for Rick Bell, level of unhinged too.

It really is the responsibility of all of the MLAs to protect us from this threat, and to maintain our good standing within confederation.

Could we just pick off one of these UPC MLAs that only won by like 100 votes with a recall? For failing to protect Alberta from supplicating itself to Mercia. I think 1 would be enough to scare the party into doing something about her.

If anyone starts one in Calgary North I'll sign up. Yaseen won by 129 votes and there were 114 votes rejected. Not exactly an insurmountable margin here.

It is not quite that straightforward. Even if you got all the NDP voters to sign a recall you still need to find roughly 3,400 additional people to put their names down. If you managed to get a successful recall petition there is still a matter of getting a simple majority in the subsequent recall vote.

There will almost certainly never be a recall vote under the current legislation.

I don't know. according to

https://www.elections.ab.ca/resource...lector-counts/

for Calgary North you need 11,156 names. I think a well organized group could do that in the 3 months given.

There are so many factors that impact the process that people tend to not take into consideration.

- People who regularly work odd shifts or out of town(especially in this province) are going to be hard to sign up.

- If you haven’t been a resident of the riding for at least 3 months you’re not eligible, but the voter(s) who lived in your house before you will be included in the total number of constituents that the number of petitions you need signed is calculated from. So you actually need a higher number of signatures than the legislation leads people to believe.

- A lot of people simply don’t answer their door to strangers or people with clipboards in their hands. There are also many people who have things like signs that say no soliciting on their front doors.

Getting petitions signed isn’t the cakewalk some make it out to be.

This is who smith is going to florida to share a stage with...on our dime.

Shapiro had this to say about the US annexing Canada:

“I feel they will greet us as liberators”
“It’s a silly country”
“I’m not saying Canadians should vote in American elections. God forbid. We can annex it and just call it an outlying territory. Like Puerto Rico, but of the north.”

No, not close to the level on the left.
Despicable.

The UCP is wasting millions of taxpayer dollars keeping unused PPE and Turkish Tylenol in storage because they couldn’t figure out how to get rid of it after they bought it from their friends and insiders. The CorruptCare scandal has cost Albertans even more than they realized.

It’s likely the government spent more than $5 million of Albertans’ money storing this unused PPE and Turkish Tylenol, and then an additional $450,000 trying to get rid of all of the PPE.

Leaked photos, video & briefing materials reveal hundreds of pallets of supplies, including unused PPE & Turkish Tylenol, sitting in a warehouse. The government bought these from MHCare, & despite the UCP gov signing a disposal contract for $450,000 in 2023, many pallets remain.

Shapiro is a moron.

Also, at this point I think it's fair to say that Smith is a f***ing traitor. She says she's on team Canada with regards to this Trump nonsense, and yet here she is hanging out in Florida with reprehensible far-right sacks of s*** who think it's funny to bully your closest neighbour, trading partner, and NATO ally. Smith can get f***ed.

Yes, but they have to protect Albertans finances by being responsible managers of our money.

Spoiler!

So it's nice to see these prudent fiscal managers finally cutting off the vulnerable, needy leeches of society who have suckled at the teat of charitable oil companies profits for far too long. Now THIS, THIS is what a vote for a real Conservative party means. Y'all should be proud, you did it!

Sure, but that's still despicable. Selling out humanity for cash. Probably Russian cash, too.
