LOL, and we get a double elimination with both surferguy and transplant booted on the first day!
Overall a decent start to the race.

Going to China on the first leg is a bonus for the eliminated teams.

It was a good first episode. The fork in the road is really just a detour where you can't switch. I liked it. It helps even things out a bit if the judge for one task is either too strict or too lenient.
My nurses worried me. And I'd be worried if they were my nurses. I hope they read medical information more closely! Acrobat guy did a great job of climbing the tower.
The parents of 8 kids annoyed me, but not race-wise. His talk about how she has done such a great job raising their kids. It was like the supervisor complimenting an employee.
The two teams that were eliminated were both weak teams, race-wise. I'm glad they enjoyed their experiences, but I think the right teams went home.

This was what I thought about the fork in the road as well, good potential but bad execution. If they had even just one more task after it would have been cool. A go down this path and do tasks A and B, go down this path and do C and D. Make it a real decision instead of just dance or sing, maybe dance and bungee jump or sing and go through a maze or something

This week, the teams travel to Osaka. Ernest struggled heavily at the Intersection and they were unable to overcome the setback, so Ernest & Bridget are going home.

- Courtney & Jasmin
- Pops & Jeff
- Bernie & Carrigain
- Brett & Mark

Fast forwarded through a lot of this, so may have missed something.
Watching tasks like the drums over and over again gets really boring. And the intersection idea sucks because you are choosing someone you barely know to do a task you know little about. Brett and Mark really got a raw deal on that one and it seems like they would have rather paired up with Carson and Jack, but they went with their 1-2 plan. These are "gimmicks" I hate in the race. I'm sure they were hoping for controversy of teams not agreeing to pair up with others, but it's just not something I like.
Pounding rice or putting sumo cloths on each other were not exciting tasks to watch, so I basically fast forwarded that part to see if Brett and Mark survived Ernest's horrible drum performance.

I hear you, and I do think the nature of the tasks is what really helped Scott and Lori jump so far ahead.

I'll admit it...I'd have chosen "Fling It" too. I did not see that challenge being that tough, and I thought it'd even be a lot of fun. I don't think I've ever seen a challenge beat every single team before.
It feels this season (granted I've only seen 2 of the episodes) that there is an 'easy' and a 'stupidhard' challenge instead of two similar level ones.

I feel like they had to invent fork in the road on the fly when they realized that one task was way easier than the other one.

I did throwing stars in Kyoto at the Samurai museum. It was way way harder than it looked!

We're looking like a couple of geniuses for drafting them.
