I had a '90 Talon TSi AWD, manual. So so so fun! (Thought I'd rub it in a bit...)

I had a similar showboat. 1999 Mercury Cougar Automatic with base engine. Super sharp looking but a Civic could best me easy

I decided to listen to my car and not compromise on my wife.
Neither her nor I have ever owned an automatic. That streak is going to get hard to maintain next time we need a car however. It's slim pickings out there.

*1994 VW Corrado VR6 has entered the chat*
……aaaaaaaand it just broke down again.
Seriously, I still to this day love my VW Corrados and owned 5 of them with the most recent being 2 years ago. They are some of the worst vehicles mechanically to own, the G60’s with a super charger are like driving a time bomb around but goddamn are they fun!

My subsequent wife drove a Supra turbo 6-speed when I met her and later an Audi S4. She’s a keeper

1980's era AMC Eagle.
Can't believe I saw one actually driving around a couple weeks back. A 40'ish-year old POS that's still functioning. I have seen the unicorn.
This Eagle truly was so so far ahead of it's time in so many ways except it was already ugly back then and never got better. One of the ugliest ever. Except for the Aztec, which was simply a new definition of SUV... Super Ugly Vehicle.

I feel like the 90s were peak sports car design era, granted most of my mental images of the below probably had body kits and aftermarket spoilers but they really were legendary cars:
~ '92 Mazda RX7
~ '95 Nissan Fairlady
~ '93 Nissan Silvia
~ '99 Nissan Skyline
~ '97 Plymouth Prowler. American Ugly but charming noentheless.
~ '98 Honda NSX. Some dude in Whitehorn used to have one when I was in highschool and I always stared hard
Lotus Elize 111S. You want one too. Today.
Ferrari F50. Tbh i think it's the only Ferrari I've ever truly wanted.
Lamborghini Diablo. What eight year old didn't have a poster of a diablo in their room in the 90s? I don't even care for supercars as an adult but that thing would be a childhood dream come true

I love red cars, but my dream 300ZX is in that pale yellow. Either way, one of the best looking cars of the decade for sure.

Even though they were slow, and not nearly as cool as all the small coupes mentioned, I miss cars like the Nissan Pulsar Nx. A ~$15k car that stood out:

You want to talk slow and un-cool, nothing beats the Nissan Multi (Stanza Wagon), one of which I inherited and drove for a while in the '90s. Apparently, they are considered rare and quirky now, esp the 4WD version. It had dual sliding rear doors and was pretty much the perfect car camping vehicle.

I think they are rare now because virtually all of them disintegrated into rust piles.

Man...those cars had style! A little boxy, somewhat angular, but I really like them!
