Thankfully the voters understand what a rookie is even if you don’t.

Pretty standard for a goalie

To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons.

MegaErtz hates everything Canadian, yet he lives in Canada. Weird.

I can sort of understand. A 19 year old dominating isn't the same as a fully developed physically mature 24 year old doing the same. To me it's amazing Wolf is in the conversation as a goaltender doing so well and relatively small. But the 23 year old thing plays into it a little. I think it'll be Celebrini ultimately. He's been way better than most have anticipated. Smart and can make the highlights. Could be the next Bergeron with some flare.

If the Flames make the playoffs he should be the Hart winner too.

The award is for NHL rookie not AHL and he’s well within the age to win.

You also made your debut here five years ago, yet post like a rookie.

I'm well aware of the rules regarding who can win the Calder. My point is that although we all love him and know that he's the only thing keeping us in the playoff hunt, there's no way he'll come anywhere close to winning as he's simply too old. That's a huge factor for voters, just look at past winners.
And I don't hate everything Canadian. Dustin Wolf is a proud American, and I, like most of us on this forum, hope that he continues to be the second coming of Mikka Kiprusoff for many years ahead.

Goalie age is not the same as skater age which should alone be considered by voters

It has only been won by a goalie once in the last twenty years, and that was by a 20 year old Steve Mason. He had ten shutouts that season, Wolf just got his third.

Wolf might not win but is getting votes so your arguments make zero sense. I bet he's a finalist

Why does anyone pay attention to that troll...surprised it's still around, it's just a jerk who's here to annoy people.
Most useless account on this site by a wide margin.

3 horse race between Hutson, Wold, and Celebrini.
Celebrini is playing some great hockey. However, haven’t seen a rookie like Wolf come in and completely take the starter’s net. Trying my best NOT to use the homer glasses, but Calgary would be a bottom 5 team without Wolf.

And in the 5 years before that the Calder was awarded 4 times (missed season due to lockout) and won twice by goalies. Cherry picking is fun! Here comes the statistic clue train CHOO CHOO.
03-04 Raycroft had 3 shutouts in 57 games on a far better bruins team than this years flames. He was 23.
00-01 Nabokov had 6 shutouts in 66 starts (hail Satan) on a pretty good SJ sharks team. He was 25.
24-25 Wolf has 3 shutouts in 38 starts on a…well…this team.
The only argument you could have made that would have been sensible is that Raycroft and Nabokov played far more games than Wolf, but to lean on shutouts as the only factor isnt a very well thought out argument.

I'd agree. At least that should be the qualifier.
