Kypreos was talking about a Marchand to Colorado deal. But yeah, I don't see any pre-trade rumours about Marchand to Florida.

To me Sweeney has been a pretty bad GM (despite last years amazing regular season). They simply haven't drafted well enough to replenish an aging lineup over the years. That said, how did Marchand only go for a 2nd round pick when he's not too far removed from being a league leader in points, and a prime agitator? How aren't there teams willing to pay a 1st++?

They probably gave him a choice.

I think it's more that he's injured week to week. That's why the condition, there's risk if he will even play.

Friedman on the 32 thoughts podcast said that because there was a big gap between the Bruins and Marchand on contract, there was some hurt feelings from Marchand.

Friedman thinks Marchand fought to get sent to where he wanted to go.

Man I hope he gets healthy FAST and is able to help them repeat . Man I'd love to see him in Flames silks....always have. I know he doesn't fit thr bill age wise anymore but I love his edge, intensity and how he lives rent free in the oppositions heads.

A player with that talent plus the gas and dynamite....F in love Brad .

With all this stuff coming out around how Sweeney and Bruins management treated one of their long time guys and Canucks management treating people like Boudreau a few years ago and now, Boeser, I wonder if players do actually take mental notes and contrast those teams and management to how Flames leadership treats their players/coaches/GMs (current or soon to be former).

They definitely do.

There was a X post after the Frost trade that mentioned players noting how CC went personally to collect them.

The idea of Bennett with a Skullet does make me laugh.

Bruins got into the place where they either risk losing him for nothing...or trade him to the one place he'll agree to go. Sounds familiar.

I'd say the worm is turning on the Bruins...but it's still a place that players like to play and with the level of college hockey there it's almost a second home for a lot of U.S. born players. So I'm not ready to kill them off yet. But it's some pretty significant turnover from that team that won 60 plus games. Jacobs getting back to being the Cheapskate of the original 6 teams

According to Friedman, Marchand told the Bruins he wanted to go to Florida. May not have been any other teams as options for a deal.

Sunbelt + low tax + strong team = prime destination in today’s NHL. Eastern time zone probably helps as well.
