So Necas, Drury, 2nd for Stankovin and 2 1st? I don’t think that is terrible value but for a team that is trying to contend it doesn’t make a ton of sense so let’s see if they flip some assets before the deadline

This trade could be enough to get Dallas the top seed in the west and would be a quick 8 days for for Flames/Canucks/Blues

I think its a fine package, Necas nor Rantanen didn’t want to stay in canes. Something is always better than nothing.

A roster with all of Hintz, Robertson, Johnston, Harley, Heiskanen, Oettinger alone... they've got all the pieces for a good run here.

Duchene, Benn, Granlund, Marchment... hard to find a gap anywhere.

Don't forget that Necas wasn't happy with his usage in Carolina before he was extended. These moves don't make Carolina better this season, but at least Rantanen didn't walk for nothing like Guentzel.

I hope Carolina has something else in the works, otherwise I'm not sure what they're doing. If you're a contender, go for it. Stankoven doesn't help you win now. Rantanen didn't put up a lot of points, but he made them a whole lot better.
