He's the only one on the panel that had oilers as a top 5 favorite to win cup. Nobody else even considered them.

To be fair, he's new on the panel.

He probably doesn't know that you only have to Oiler/McAvi knob gobble every second sentence. Still has time to learn.

Funny. I don't remember him having many concussions.

All the serious contenders in the West seem to be loading up (Ranto to Dallas is a frightening thought) and meanwhile up in Whoville, their idea of loading up is “Hey, Connor can play 27 minutes the rest of the way, right?”

I assume they want to get locked into the #2 spot in the Pacific and play the Flames/LA/Van in the first round. Winning the division could put you up against a pretty snappy WC team like MIN or COL.

I mean, it’s all pointless anyways. These poseurs won’t get by Vegas in the second round, even if they get that far.

Current and just retired hockey players always seem to be terrible judges of team building and team strength. They often seem overly impressed by individual skill like McDavid's.

I think that’s why many are terrible coaches at first…if they even get better, it’s because they switch mindset.

This is the greasers in a nutshell. Individual skills can take a team a long way. But when the other team is relatively close to individual skills, but play as a team with commitment and strategy, it’s a different animal.

Part of me wonders if buttering up the Oilers on air is a requirement or something for newbie panelists, because Gio can't be that dumb to think the Oilers are anything close to a Cup contender right now - especially with the teams around them loading up.

Another 3-on-3 win for the oilers last night after getting outscored by the Habs at even strength

That’s like saying you are close to being married to someone although you don’t yet know their name.

Today has been a beautiful day! Dallas and Colorado just slammed any window for the Oilers shut. E=NG

More like they took turns slamming the Oilers heads into a car door before running over the corpse with a roller

Sucks that the most likely outcome is oilers get LA in the first round meanwhile Dallas and Colorado will probably face each other in the first round.

LA might surprise us this year, I dont know if Skinny is going to be anywhere as good and Mcavi & co can outscore those warts.
