Good, that means Ottawa will trade him to us in a year for pennies on the dollar.

Could also be flipped to CGY from Ottawa if they're more malleable to the package Conny was offering up to Buffalo.

Will be really interesting to see how Cozens performs if it's him.
I wonder more if it's Peterka though, Sens wanted more of a scoring winger and wanted to open time at center for Pinto and Greig
If it's Peterka for Norris then I wonder if the need for a center back for Cozens would be reduced

I doubt it Cozens, that would be a terrible return
Norris is such a huge health risk, he can't have much value
It is the Sabres though, so who knows

Say Ottawa would accept Honzek and NJ 1st for Cozens, do you do it? I would.

a. I wouldn't
b. Why is Ottawa trading the guy they just acquired? They are in a PO spot and presumably are getting him for the same reason Calgary would want him.

I like Norris and Bernard Docker is the RH dman that Buffalo needed but for the Sabres moving off Cozens $7.1M contract just to take on the older and more injury prone Norris at $7.8M is weird to me

I doubt Buffalo is interested in a futures based package. They probably want players similar to, like Cozens, are a few years in the career.

Sigh. No sheet sherlock. That's why the rumors have always been the Flames didn't have the package Buffalo wanted.
I'm saying that Ottawa if Conroy was working with them may be more open to the Flames package and they flip him to CGY.

When you are a team full of young dmen, what does Benard-Docker do for them? They need vets around the core dmen they already have.
I'd rather have Cozens than Norris, why they are giving up picks is crazy IMO.

TBH it's just bad GMing.
As a fan I'll never get why GMs do the "I need a specific piece back for the asset I'm selling thing".
Get the best possible return for what I'm trying to move and then if you need to use those assets to go get another piece then do that.
I used this analogy yesterday but it's trading in your car. You're not going to get best value for your Audi if you try to go trade it in at the Ford dealership.
Sell your car privately and then use the money you get to go buy the vehicle you want. NHL GMs tend to be less creative and always are trying to just do everything in one trade.
Being adamant you need a center back for your $7.1M contract is how you end up needing to take on $7.8M of Josh Norris contract
