After seeing the prices for Wahlman and Nelson, I really hope Conroy sells Andersson and other players. The Flames should not keep their assets, hoping to make the playoffs, given the prices being paid.

I thought Conroy did well last year given the market.

This market appears to a much better seller’s market.

I see people have reached the getting mad at rumoured deals stage of the trade deadline. Markstrom for Mercer + a 1st all over again. Ritchie is a great get for the Islanders though, I am pretty surprised they let him go for a rental. Although, I am not entirely convinced that Kadri has more value than Nelson. His contract makes it a lot harder to get teams to bid up on him.

They have a player who is worth significantly more than a UFA and that player is also a player who should not be re-signed for the 2026-27 year. The time to make a trade as a half decent GM is during this trade deadline. The Flames are not an excellent team. They should reward Wolf for his great play by building a better future around him.

I've mentally prepared myself for a quiet Flames day today with something like a "Flames trade D Miromanov to XYZ for a conditional 4th round pick in 2026" type trade.

And I'm ok with that.

Probably a depth move coming on D and that’s about it. Love to be wrong but not going to get worked up about it. Anything big would have been settled prior to the deadline like the Frost and Farabee deal or it will wait for the summer.

I am not in the trade Kadri camp because I think that he won’t waive to allow a trade but I wonder if the Hurricanes would be interested in him if they trade Rantanen. If Kotkaniemi was coming back in the trade the salary would make a tonne of sense for the Canes. If they add a few young pieces/picks it might make sense for the Flames. The Canes get a substantially better player than JK and the Flames get some future magic beans and a reclamation project. Kotkaniemi is essentially a salary dump so the magic beans would have to be pretty good.

After another point last night, I see no path forward where the Flames gut the room by trading Kadri or Andersson this season.

Don’t think there will be much to see around the Flames today, personally.

With the slow week leading up to today, I think we are going to see a classic deadline day bonanza. Should be a fun ride.

Just hope Conroy strikes if the the right deal comes along.
