It's going to take a "REAL" offer to move Andersson, teams thus far have tried to make it seem like they're doing Craig a favor by taking them off his hands at this point.
I don't understand this either with the prices that lesser players are going for. 2nd round picks going for much lesser players and 1sts going for lesser. What is Conroy expecting??? Rasmus isn't really THAT good...

Equivalent of 2 1sts and he is gone - no questions asked from me.

I expect a Depth Dman at the very least to be acquired.
Flames remain in talks with Buffalo RE: Cozens
I wonder if Craig would take a run at Rantanen, though they wont trade for his rights without an extension already in place.
Will be interesting to see which teams get a bit more desperate in the final hours tomorrow. Not exactly a hot take.. but I think if Andersson it gets traded it's because of a bidding war that could go down to the last minute IMO.

And jeeze, Maybe a pipe dream for the deadline but [ Huberdeau - Kadri - Rantanen ] would be a pretty slick top line.

Doubt it, very much.

Especially this year in a draft that’s widely considered to be shallow. I would imagine every GM in the league would place higher value on a potential elite players opposed to one pretty good one and two ‘roll of the dice’ type prospects.

I doubt anyone would call Casey or Zellweger a depth defender...

I suspect they just don't have faith that Miromanov/Bean/Solovyov are good enough to be the six/seven guys as games get more important and into the playoffs if they make it. Plus if someone in the top five gets injured again like Bahl did, they know they'll struggle with two of those three guys having a regular shift...

They might be also chasing a young defensive prospect, but if they get their depth defender, it will more likely be a guy that plays as a regular 5/6 guy--someone like Pachal.

Yes depth = strong defensively, not a 7-8 plug as we've got enough of those.
They want a hard to play against, physically punishing D man.

Sorry guys

If they move Andersson, I could see them looking for a Casey/Zellweger as part of the package.

I don't understand how there are so many insiders on this site.

Is Conroy just telling everyone he knows whenever a phone call comes in?

I like the list above but we have to consider that Winnipeg & Buffalo are likely to be on his no trade list but who knows.
people think that, its not easy to play huge minutes in the NHL though. Reminds me of people who thought Zadorov was one of the Flames best...until anytime he got more than 3rd pairing minutes

What about someone in between like an Alexander Romanov?

So, you want Calgary to go all in on a very expensive rental to simply make the playoffs?

More like a nightmare.

Zellweger is an interesting one. He has great analytics in a sheltered role, and was a healthy scratch for 5 games now. Do you think he has a good chance of becoming a top 4 D in the ne t couple of years?

Thanks for clarifying. When i think of depth dmen, I'm thinking of bottom pairing guys. Good to know that's not what they are looking for.

If New Jersey hadn't picked up Dumoulin:

Andersson to NJ
Nemec to Buffalo
Cozens and Casey plus a pick to Calgary.

Ah yes, just what we need while things are on topic for once, another re-hashing of the 'are you a legit insider or not' debate, ad-nauseum.

Just enjoy it for what it is, or if you don't want to, keep it to yourself. Most of us enjoy the speculation, whether or not it pans out.

Leaks come from several places.
People know someone in the front office.
Though I think often it's agents, or people that know agents.
or you own a car dealership apparently.

I'm always amazed about how freely people talk about this stuff. But it does happen. And sometimes teams are leveraging those leaks to put out the narrative they want.

Not sure why the Flames get that much, and NJ gets that little.

I think players (current and past) tend to be pretty leaky too.

Anytime I've ever heard anything it's been former players who still have ties to the team.

I am against the idea of acquiring a depth dman. We don’t need an Oscar Fantenberg or Derek Forbort given our teams current situation

We have Bean, Hanley, Pachal, Miromanov, Barrie, Tinordi, Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Poirier, Aspirot, etc

Now if the depth dman is a younger option, (25 and under), I might not be as opposed to it
