You do realize the Conservatives have been campaigning for this for several years. I do find it amusing that Liberals are all of the sudden salivating over building pipelines and extracting our resources. The conservatives have been complaining about the trade conditions to the US for a long time and trying to advocate for more efficient resource extraction and refining. All in an effort to get more value for our resources and diversify trade partners. These are not new ideas.

Well, Conservatives can always run on “that was our idea first!” once they’re tired of whining about Trudeau and Carney’s shoes.

I’m sure adult Canadians will be very compelled by it.

It's pretty simple.

Expand provincial trade.

Get rid of equalization.

Get rid of a ton of useless gov programs.

Stub subsidizing/funding minority groups.

Get rid of the fat and complacency.

I also agree that we should stop subsidizing the ultra-rich. Glad we're on the same page there.

The fact that the Liberals are changing and moving to Conservative ideas is a good thing for Canadians.

Regardless of what party is in power, doing what is right for the country is the most important thing.

It would be somewhat validating for the Conservative that the Liberals concede that they were wrong on some things, like the Northern Gateway. But I agree that doesn’t necessarily get the Conservatives more votes.

It’s nice to see the Liberals and Conservatives getting closer to some common ground on projects and ideas that put Canada first, even if the Liberals have to reverse their stance on a few things.

No one except hardcore people would seriously argue the Conservatives have no good ideas. Political parties should be far more open to accepting that maybe someone else has come up with a good idea.

Unfortunately for the Conservatives, their good ideas get lost in the far right nonsense they feel they have to cater to.

To be fair, the Libs have been saying for at least a decade how great one conservative policy is/was - carbon tax.

Spoiler!

To some extent they should be compelled by it. "We've been saying this for years, they've fought tooth and nail against it and now they've discovered we were right. If we'd been in power, this would already be well on its way to being done and we'd have a response to the current situation. The LPC has just showed you that they won't do what's necessary to help Canadians until they think it's political suicide to do otherwise - they only do the right thing when there's an election they want to win. We'll do it because it's the right thing to do."

It's not a difficult case to make.

If the CPC was capable of making simple cases we wouldn't be talking about another LPC formed government barely three months removed from polls showing CPC reducing them below Official Opposition status.

"Trump bad; sovereignty good" wasn't exactly tough messaging but here we are...

Hey, I said it was a compelling argument, I didn't say they were competent enough to deliver it effectively.

It's a full push here in BC. Every first ad on YouTube is:

"Trump feeds on the weak and THAT's Carney"
"Carney moved his HQ to NY, just like Trump wanted"

Carney bad man! Carney bad man! Carney bad man!

Meanwhile none of them say what the CPC can do for you.

The older I get, the less I think Conservatives have good ideas. I blame my education, maturity, experience and empathy.

You implied it because you love Trump and hate Canada.

Axe the Tax (so will Carney)
Build the Houses (not a federal jurisdiction)
Stop the Crime (also not a federal jurisdiction)

I do find it funny that CPC supporters were grousing the Carney didn’t have any actual plans. Well he just released some pretty detailed ones - certainly more detailed than what Poilievre has put forward.

Ball’s in your court, slogan-man.
