That seems like a huge overpayment by Tampa to me and a massive win for Seattle. Maybe I am out of touch though.

At 75% retained he is. Gourde was Seattle's best forward when they went to the conference finals. His PPG this year isn't far off Bjorkstrand. He brings way more to the table than points.

I still don't see a world where Gourde should be worth a 1st and Bjorkstrand a 1st + 2nd and I like both players

TB was Hanifin's preferred destination last year, and they wanted him too, and they couldn't give us a single damn 1st. jesus christ

JB doesn't mind overpaying to get his guy. He did the same for Jennot.

The fact that there is no retention on Bjorkstrand makes this much worse for Tampa.

Live picture of Treliving... or was this from one of the many trades he missed out on over the past several years? Can never tell anymore.

Tampa's cap situation in a cap world that has the cap going up huge in the next 3 years might be the best in the league, they have everyone locked up until after the 2027 draft. Those picks will not be high ones.
They have no RFAs to worry about and no UFAs either....millions in cap space next summer and nearly a full roster.

Oof, that is a lot for TB to give up. A bit jealous of the haul for Seattle.

Not sure if that's correct, with the acquired players ($5.4m + Gourde who is a pending UFA)
They will be very close to the max.
