Carlo is worth likely a 1st+ to a contender due to being decent and signed cheaply for an additional 2 years.

It's nice to see so much activity around the Flames right now. I'm not going to get excited/ disappointed until I see what the final picture is after the trade deadline. But I really hope that we come out of this week netting more picks than we have today.

I would be shocked if we could get a 3rd for Vladar let alone a 2nd. .800s UFA goalie with no real history of success. Hopefully the Panthers only watched one game like the Leafs with Rittich.

Agreed. I could just see those types of players moved to recoup assets, and that being flipped as part of the Flames package.

I'd sooner just collect assets, but at least going this route we'd not be dealing solely futures from our existing assets.

I am hearing all is pretty quiet on the Flames front. Inquired about the Carlo rumour and there was no legs to it. Unless something comes out of left field, look for the Flames to be really quiet, only potential moves are to help broker deals as a third party for future assets or maybe a depth defenceman to help on the left side. Offers they have had on Vladar so far this year have been lowball and Conroy does not want to move him anyhow as him and Wolf are comfortable and supportive of eachother. As for a Miromanov trade keep an eye on the Chicago Blackhawks there.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of our veterans being moved for younger assets and picks but this is better than spending assets on older players and/or rentals.

My guess, Flames won't approach Vladar for an extension, he is either traded or leaves in the offseason

With Cooley having a 1 way kick in next year, would think he will be with Flames next season

After all the handwringing and confusion post-Flyers deal, the top 10 pick thing may still be on the table and in fact be the best outcome for this season.

I think you could cement a top 10 pick by sitting Wolf and managing the bench. No need to weaken your position of strength Re: contracts that expire next season.
