Time to toughen up. You're going to be pretty unhappy when the idiot ramps up his unhinged behavior.

This'd take a bit more work, but I'm up for it:

What I've come to find is alot of the extreme left and extreme right have both taken up these pro-trump stances. Even some good friends who used to be hard left environmentalists etc have taken the bait.

It's becoming clearer to me that these sometimes aren't really bad people, but rather they are victims of the propaganda of Putin. Trump is also a victim here of Putin's propaganda, though he obviously has other issues and always will.

Maybe I'm just rambling, but I think this may help change my approach when interacting with these people who have been lost to the propaganda.

I feel like the big thing about both the extreme right and left is they are both extraordinarily miserable and currently get their greatest current joy by inflicting misery on others. "My life sucks, so feel my pain" pretty much. Except, of course, they end up suffering more and while the rest of us will suffer, it still won't be as much as them. Kind of a bizarre self-fulfilling prophecy with some collateral damage mixed in.

You could always go down to Georgia.

I suppose in your case it would be going up to Georgia. Either way, the Devil is there and he's waiting.

Guests are paying millions of dollars to dine and meet with President Donald Trump at special events held at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Business leaders can secure a one-on-one meeting with the president at Mar-a-Lago for $5 million, according to sources with direct knowledge of the meetings. At a so-called candlelight dinner held as recently as this past Saturday, prospective Mar-a-Lago guests were asked to spend $1 million to reserve a seat, according to an invitation obtained by WIRED.

The billionaires are now in charge, given power by the fools who believed Trump was looking out for them.

"Cash for access" meetings are not unique.

As far as fiddlers go, I prefer the Devil to Nero.

I guess Virginia is the closet blue state.

Good for global stability that countries are finally respecting Trump and America, and doing what he wants.

It's a smart leader like Trudeau who bends the knee, and does what he's told.

NY Times (paywall)

Quote:
Trump’s America First approach has produced policy wins. When the president threatened Canada and Mexico with tariffs last month, both countries made limited concessions to appease him. Canada promised to name a “fentanyl czar.” Mexico said it would move troops to its northern border.

Those countries are still trying to curry Trump’s favor to avoid tariffs. Few migrants now come through the U.S.-Mexico border, my colleague Annie Correal reported. And Mexico has stepped up efforts against organized crime. For the first time in years, cartel operatives say they fear arrest, my colleagues Natalie Kitroeff and Paulina Villegas explained.

Trump’s friendlier stance toward Russia has also led European countries to commit to more spending on their militaries. They plan to defend the continent themselves — exactly what Trump wanted. And Trump’s impatience with Ukraine moved its president to offer some of the country’s mineral wealth to the United States. Russia, too, has dangled economic opportunities to get in Trump’s good graces.

Trump’s critics do not like the abrasive, chaotic approach he has used to get some of these wins. But the means matter less to Trump than the ends. In his view, he pushed other countries to take U.S. interests more seriously.
Everyone knows that to effectively deal with a bully, all you need to do is give him what he wants. Maybe if Canada keeps being submissive, he'll stop with just the 25% tariffs.

That's how it works right?!?!

Adding a fentanyl czar position to an already agreed upon plan that stopped tariffs for a month that clearly cost much more than the position is a pretty good move imo.

Random thoughts:

1. How many countries will pull out of the La Olympics in 2028?
2. Does Trump threaten the IOC to reinstate Russia?
3. How many US Athletes will be pressured to and pull out of their own Olympics?

Interesting that the decision was not based entirely on party affiliation and that the case was brought on by San Fransisco of all cities.
