TBH I just want him to #### or get off the pot. I fully expect him to delay the tariffs another 30 days at the 11th hour on Monday.
This has been a nightmare to deal with.

Yup, I'd be surprised if he doesn't delay again. American business leaders and farmers have been freaking out about this since he first announced it and have been lobbying the administration to not go through with it, including several Republican lawmakers who think it's a terrible idea.
Also it's starting to appear like the tariff bulls*** is nothing more than a huge chaotic distraction while Musk and the rest of Trump's minions rapidly destroy their own government institutions. He'll just keep delaying, threatening, delaying, threatening...over and over again just to keep the chaos going.

There are some ominous US economic forecasts starting to come out. Like the economy contracting in Q1. Consumer spending is dropping, unemployment is climbing (and that’s before the numbers of the fed layoffs). Exports are stalling. This thing may get ugly quick, and maybe that’s for the best.

Just read that Trump was flip-flopping again yesterday on his reason for tariffs. First it was the fentanyl thing, which we know is complete horses***. Then it was his completely fabricated “200 billion” trade deficit. Now it’s because we don’t spend enough on defence/NATO.
So which is it? Make up your mind, you fat sack of s***.

Good thing they want to leave NATO, our spending won't matter to them.

I’m going to bet on a meeting at 10 EST going well and Canada agreeing to meet again at 2 EST and Tarrifs being delayed another month.
Markets aren’t even going to react this time because no one believes him.

I think he just wants someone from Canada to come beg. He loves that feeling. That's why he got so pissy at Zelenskyy because he stood up for his country.
He probably wants Trudeau to admit he's a 'governor' so he him and Musk can have a giggle together.

Trump posted a little while ago that tariffs on agriculture will go into effect on April 2. So...who knows who legitimate that is, but that is the latest I saw.

The most recent news stories (<1 hour old) aren't reporting on this.
Lutnick confirms there WILL be tariffs, but that the president will decide today what it will be because we didn't do a good job on fentanyl.

Was that more recent than the statement yesterday by the Commerce Secretary, affirming that tariffs will go head on Tuesday but might be reduced?

I actually hope he goes all in with them so his bad decision will be felt immediately and more strongly by his own citizens.
Meanwhile, I am looking for sourcing anything that is getting price adjusted because of tariffs directly from China instead of going through any US value-added services since I am seeing some price adjustments of up to 8% now.

It was posted by Trump about an hour ago. I think the thing is, there's no clarity here. It could mean just reciprocal tariffs, could mean a separate tariff like he's announced for aluminum/steel, chips and cars. Or maybe it's something different, and we just have no idea.
Their whole tariff "program" is so uncertain now, that it's hard to know what actually happens. I do think that we're getting tariffs though, because he won't like looking weak time and time again on this issue, and Canada is low hanging fruit in this regard.

I've been pretty solidly on the side of 'the Tariffs were a negotiating ploy' side and thus far it seems to me that its looking more and more likely to be the case.
If Drumpf drops the idea, maybe even if only for Canada, he's going to do it to try and appear magnanimous.
Trump! The Saviour of Canada!!
Its pretty unanimously understood that tariff wars are, especially with a valued neighbour, 'paste-eating-stupid' so this is clearly Trump's idea and eventually he'll either be talked out of it or shift his 'deal-making' into a different direction.
Its a negotiating tactic.
He's already delayed it twice. Maybe one more time before fully dropping it.
