Changes on the fly are free in OT. Win the puck and change.
Kadri should never be taking a draw in OT.

What even is the argument? throw games?
not one poster I know of has said to trade meaningful assets for rentals. You guys are arguing against yourselves. Tre already traded the first, luckily there are two more...whats so bad about a fan wanting their team to make the playoffs? Like this is supposed to be fun right? Its a game after all.

Or lose it and you’re stuck out there for 2 minutes? Works both ways, and road teams are at a disadvantage for neutral zone draws, so you can depress all those season long numbers.

I get that the losses were probable on this trip, id just like to see us score in those efforts.
There aren't even moral victories in being so inept.

Hahahahahahahahahaha. You are comparing this roster to the Kings?!
They had a hall of fame elite defenseman in Doughty. A hall of fame elite forward in Kopitar. And possibly the best goalie in the league at the time.
The defense had a ton of depth. They had so many good players. The forwards had even more depth. There were times that players like Mike Richard's, Jeff Carter and Justin Williams were playing on their 3rd line.
Compare it to the Flames who don't have a single first line player. That is an amazing comparison.

In past years, we've seen this organization get carried away and move out assets to bring in players for the playoffs, only to lose in round 1 time and again.
The argument is simply... don't repeat mistakes of the past.

Yeah, I’m confused as to what the whiners are whining about.
“This team is not a contender!”
Wow. You don’t say. And here everyone was saying they should be competing for a cup. Crazy.

The argument against… who? what? What’s the counter argument and who is making it?

The opposing argument is that the Flames aren't repeating those mistakes, so what the hell are you so worked up about?

So getting mad about something that hasn't happened? Its highly unlikely the Flames move significant assets for a rental for the playoffs. On the off chance they make a deal it would be a young player and upgrade of assets.
Montreal is getting the pick anyway...what difference does it make if its 11th or 16th? Optics? Might as well cheer for playoffs, its not like we have any influence on the game anyway. Personally I would like to take my son to his first playoff game...sue me!

If the Flames sell, they will avoid a lose-lose scenario.
They can acquire future assets while still making the playoffs. Similar to 2014-2015.
Would be a great outcome.
They can acquire future assets, improve their draft pick, and miss the playoffs.
A bit disappointing for now, but it should help for the future. In this case, there's no point about whining about winning, because Conroy will have done his job.

There needn’t be an adversary to present an argument.

sell what though and for what...Flames have no meaningful UFAs the deadline is arbitrary.

Some of the pro-tank crowd construct adversaries in their own minds to justify being angry. We see them attack arguments nobody has made, like, ‘You're cheering for 9th place,’ or ‘You're happy with mediocrity forever,’ or the ever popular, ‘This isn't a rebuild because Conroy is going to blow assets on win-now trades.’

I thought they would get destroyed in this one. Great to grind out a point. 3 out of 8 so far against the 4 toughest teams. Beat philly and we’re 0.500 on the hardest road trip of the year. Then pray against Dallas.

Not a UFA but you can sell Andersson while his stock his high.
Team needs youth and picks.

Pointless arguments are boring.
Don’t make bad trades.
Don’t sign bad contracts.
Don’t make mistakes.
Try to win the cup.
Anyone disagree? No? Great.

Maybe, hard to argue when we don't know what the actual offers are. Same thing was said about Markstrom and a deal at least as good was made in the spring anyway.
Seems like a lot of stress over a kids game

With respect to the classical definition of argumentative theory, they are not boring to me. You can take issue with the veracity of the premises, but the argument may be logically valid if absurd.
With respect to hockey, I think every team is trying to do that.
