Solovyov also had a brutal game today, bad pinch led to a partial 2 on 1 where Florida scores then he loses his balance and lands with his ass on vladar. Had a few big blunders today, not a good showing at all.

Everyone on the team knows where they are at in the standings and when the trade deadline is. I would have to imagine they have to be coming into the attitude of 'fighting for their playoff lives", especially after the last game. This SHOULD have been a playoff game from the Flames' standpoint, but it wasn't. Only the Panthers + Vladar showed up for this one.



I am not arguing that these 'eggs' shouldn't happen. Every team lays and egg now and then, or goes through a tough stretch. We all knew that this road trip was potentially a 'make it or break it' trip. I didn't see a playoff game this afternoon. I didn't see a team desperate to make the playoffs. I won't lie - I didn't expect them to win, and that's not the argument that I am making. I just expected more than just Vladar to show up, that's all, and the fact that he was basically the only player showing up is probably telling Conroy exactly what this team is.


I felt bad for Vladar making miracle save after miracle save, while and his teammates not feeding off of that. As I said before, every team lays a stinker, and stinkers are just games you should ignore. I just feel you can't ignore this one given the timing of it, as well as I feel they should have woken up and had some energy injected into them from watching their teammate have a hell of a game.

Well given the number of thanks you received this is a very popular view.

My only contra point would be these things always seem to be so binary. Not long ago he would score and stare down a fan and he was everyone’s favourite Flame for life. Sign that man now they said. The Christmas stare down vid was a half hour long.

And an experienced vet who said he loves it here.

Now it’s I can’t believe people actually want to keep him.

it's got the feel of the classic Flames season from the kipper era. Just replace "Kipprusoff" with "Wolf". The only difference is that scoring is by committee rather than the Iginla show.

Conroy has already said they are going to stay the course, I was under the assumption any player we acquire would be young enough to be part of the team long term. I have no reason to believe conroys focus is this years playoffs unless I missed something.

He is good player and will always be a beloved Flame. He's just worth more when converted to picks or prospects to this organization at this point. We will have ultimate clarity over the next few games.
