Makes some sense. Perds stink and ain't doin no good this year. May as well get something for whichever vet you can.

Edit: even if Nyquist nearly put out Spurgeon's eye a number of years ago with a dirty as hell retaliatory high stick.

Complementary wingers should not be getting 2nds at the deadline, wow

Nyquist is only a year removed from a 75 point season at age 34 (granted that season was a huge outlier), but still he looks like he's still got a decent NHL game left in him for another 2 years or so.

Last trade deadline you couldn’t give middle wingers away. Wasn’t Jason zucker traded for a 6th round pick last year?

Awful trade for the Wild.

Just under a half-point a game, solid vet and plays with some sneaky snarl to his game. I still don't like it for the WIld, unless they plan on re-signing him for another season.

I just don't see the Wild as a contender yet. Nyquist doesn't move the needle enough for me - I would have rather seen them use more assets and bringing in someone better (and younger, given that I don't think they will make noise this year), or just hold off altogether. I don't see him as a difference maker at all at this stage, and a 2nd is valuable currency.
