Trump made no mention of the requirements for job creation. And, while the number of EB-5 visas is capped, the Republican president mused that the federal government could sell 10 million “gold cards” to reduce the deficit. He said it “could be great, maybe it will be fantastic.”

However, according to UBS as of 2023:

Out of a population of 8.1 billion people, just 62.4 million are millionaires. That’s 0.8% of the population. There are 8.4 million people globally with a net worth of $5 million or more. Having this level of wealth would put you in the top 0.1%.

About 20% of those people currently are US Citizens. Also, how many people are going to spend all their wealth just to get a green card? You’d have to assume someone would need to be worth at least $30,000,000 for this to be viable which brings that number down to 650,000 worldwide (then exclude the 150,000 US citizens that fall into that).

I guess he also claims companies will pay $5,000,000 for “top talent” to come to the USA. I’d love to see the ROI for a company investing $5,000,000 just in someone to get a green card for an employee.

And the problem with the bolded is that it eventually becomes America Alone, not America First. WHen that type of isolationism happens, the quality of life goes down and the world moves on. Conservatives and MAGA losers cannot see the chess board five moves in advance, and they will turn on each other when that day of realization comes.

I watched the press conference and it's brutal but I was kinda expecting worse considering it's Trump??

Although I don't agree at all with Trump's stance and think this will go sideways for the world, Biden has expressed frustrations with Ukraine and their President before with a lack of appreciation, lack intelligence follow up and not listening to some aspects of the military tactics they think would work better for them.

Ukraine is fighting like heros until the end but it's apparent that this is a fractured relationship between both sides of 2 allies. We can say the same thing about Canada minus the war aspect.
