Quote:
At least 124 cases have been reported since late January, mostly among children and teenagers who were unvaccinated or whose vaccination status was unknown.
A child has died of measles in West Texas, the first known death in an outbreak that is spreading in the region and in neighboring New Mexico, state health officials said on Wednesday.
The patient was an unvaccinated school-age child, according to officials in Lubbock, Texas, and the Department of State Health Services.
The outbreak comes amid growing concerns among public health experts about declining vaccination rates and the confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent vaccine skeptic, as the nation’s health secretary.
At a meeting of cabinet officials at the White House on Wednesday, Mr. Kennedy downplayed the news, saying that federal health officials were “watching” the outbreak and noting that there had been others this year.
“So it’s not unusual,” he said. He did not mention vaccination or describe steps the federal government might be taking to help stop the outbreak.
In “The Measles Book,” published by Children’s Health Defense, the anti-vaccine nonprofit he founded, Mr. Kennedy wrote that “measles outbreaks have been fabricated to create fear,” leading government officials to “inflict unnecessary and risky vaccines on millions of children for the sole purpose of fattening industry profits.”
As of Feb. 20, there had been three measles outbreaks in the United States this year and 16 last year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The outbreaks last year totaled 285 cases; this year’s tally so far is nearly half that.
Most of the cases have been centered in Gaines County, an area on the western edge of the state. It is home to thousands of Mennonites, an insular Christian group that historically has had lower vaccination rates. Officials said the child who died Wednesday had lived in Gaines County.
Last year, roughly 82 percent of the county’s population had received the M.M.R. vaccine. Experts say that at least 95 percent of people in a community need to be vaccinated in order to stave off outbreaks.

I’m cool with American Trumper’s letting their kids die unvaccinated. They will just grow into being adult Megas at some point.

Those photos are low key hilarious.

While you probably should, they are.
They shutting down the state to have the services provided by private enterprises they control.
They're eliminating legitimate media in favor of supplicant propaganda.
They're demonizing their political opponents with untrue and violent language.
They've mused about the various forms of forceful expansionism.
They've publicly aligned themselves with aggressive and authoritarian regimes.
They're firing people for being minorities, and erasing evidence of their existence from public records
They've opened concentration camps.
They've sieg heiled.
Not a lot of space left between them and literal 1945 Nazis, but I think the certainly fall into the colloquial meaning of the word.

Donald Trump Named in Jeffrey Epstein Flight Logs Released by His Own Attorney General
Quote:
President Donald Trump's name appears in Jeffrey Epstein's flight logs released by his own attorney general on Thursday, Feb. 27.
PEOPLE reviewed the flight logs and found Trump's name a total of seven times. He was mentioned on page 24 of the first flight log, dated Oct. 11, 1993. He was also mentioned twice on page 27, along with his then-wife Marla Maples, their daughter Tiffany Trump and a nanny on May 15, 1994. All three of those dates had "JE" (Jeff Epstein) listed on the same flights as Trump. GM, possibly Ghislane Maxwell, was listed as a passenger on the October 1993 flight.
The release of the files related to the financier accused of sex trafficking came a day after Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Fox News that the Justice Department was set to release flight logs and names of people associated with Epstein.

The people demanding the flight logs will not care about Trump on it. Trump is held to a different standard. They don't expect him to behave any better than slime mould, so most days he looks pretty good.

Isn't the whole Qanon thing that Trump is waging a secret war against pedophiles? (Who are obviously only left on the political spectrum, obviously.) This is clearly just a clever infiltration of enemy territory by the saviour! Sorry 4 clever infiltrations!

Dave Chapelle nailed it with his SNL monologue about Trump is the guy who goes in the house, comes out and says “everything you think is going on in there is”
Its how unlike Bill Clinton/Trudeau/etc, he escapes these things. Even if per se Bill did nothing wrong he will lie and lie, until he is caught. Trump just shrugs and says so what.
Not a pro Trump post but I can see how people see his appeal. Its actually the system that makes him look good, which is a very sad reality

What are you even talking about.
Both Clinton and Trudeau have longer tenures than Trump and Trump has been indicted and convicted on criminal charges.
“The system makes him look good! I see the appeal!”
Use your noggin.

How the world works outside your left wing echo chamber Pepsi. There was an election in the US and Trump won. Why?
Clinton impeached. Trudeau several ethics violations. Both caught in lies multiple times. Trudeau exposed as a fake over and over. Trump re-elected despite clearly being as much if not worse.
I get you don’t like the way the world works, but try even for a minute to think evenly. Take a breath re-read my post. I explicitly didn’t endorse Trump just tried to explain why the electorate in the US may have given up on politics as usual.
Or keep dropping the sass bombs, whatever.

You’re not sure if Trump is worse than Trudeau? Talk about echo chambers. He is many magnitudes worse.

Trudeau is a terrible politician, but hey so is Poilievre and countless others. Trump, well, he is one of the worst people, period, in modern history. It's so embarrassing to try and lump Trudeau being a ####ty politician with Trump being a ####ty human being.

If you would like people to take you seriously, you are going to have to at least pretend to be a serious person.
People have given up because they believe the same thing you do, that the left is just as bad(well, maybe slightly less bad) than Donald ####ing Trump. So ask yourself how you came to that view? Was it a steady diet of BS RW media? Did you buy the lies of "legacy media" being too unreliable, so you look to the liars instead? Do you buy simple slogans to complex problems? Reject "experts"? How, exactly did you get to this point, where you can't see that Trump is in another galaxy of bad, in the political world? Then you'll know how Donald got elected.
