As fun as it is to laugh at the Oilers. The Caps continue to be a total surprise to me. The new players they brought in like PLD, Strome, Chychryn, and Logan Thompson are all having huge seasons. Players like McMichael, Protas, and Wilson are also having strong seasons. For a team that was wasting their time in the playoffs last year, they seem a lot better this year. I don't know if they're a "Contender" since they seem to lack elite talent and didn't have much 4 Nations representation. But the top 6 forwards, top 2 defenceman, and goaltending all are putting up pretty solid counting stats this year.

So if Dylan Strome wins the cup as the 1c for the caps, will that be enough to make him a good center instead of "too slow" and "not a good player" or "terrible defensively"

listening to the Caps radio feed on the way home, they are not pulling punches- just on and on about total domination- I get the Caps are having a great season, but their basic sentiment seems to be even by their standards this is a cakewalk, talking about its nice their backup finally got an easy start etc
