Yeah I get that part. But the kid gets called up and spends time in front of the press asking him if he’s excited and looking forward to showing how he’s progressed etc…
It’s a kick in the nuts even with that extra sum in his pocket.

I can't imagine these transactions are happening without the player's knowledge of what the team is doing.

Honestly, I bet it's more Kuznetsov being like, "Connie, I gotta go, I understand, it's all good... just stop talking"

He certainly wasn't told he was staying up and getting into the lineup in the next couple games. It's the media's fault for pushing those leading questions.
He did get to show something; in practice.

Barrie now becomes a Wrangler or traded to a contender who wants depth at defense. I prefer the latter even if it is a late-round pick but there is value in him helping the Wranglers go deep in the playoffs.

Why would a contender trade a pick for him when they could have had him for free? More likely it’s he goes to wranglers or he retires.

If they claim him off waivers, they need to keep him in the NHL (or put him back on waivers to send him down). If they trade for him now, they can bury his cap hit in the AHL for the rest of the season but have him available for the playoffs if needed.

No idea of configuration but seems solid:
Kuznetsov-Barrie
Aspirot-Brzustewicz
Grushnikov-Poirier

I am sure Kuznetsov will get some games in this season. I remember Conroy talking a while ago that he wants to see more young guys in the second-half of the season play. He really does need to get some viewings on Kuznetsov and Poirier at the NHL level before deciding to expose them to waivers next season, or making room for them in the lineup. They probably want to see more of Solovyov too.

Man, you express sympathy for a player who gets called up and sent back down and a bunch of people show up to detail the inner workings of the flames and how that human being doesn’t feel disappointed because he was informed beforehand that he’s going immediately back down.
