To be fair though, that’s good hockey IQ. Seeing that coverage is off and moving to the open spot when they’re all going to cover Marner. But that whole goal doesn’t happen without Marner’s excellent play and on point pass. Guy deserves more credit for his key moments.

He not just scored the goal, but won the face off and kept the puck in the zone.

The MVP is voted on with 10 minutes to go in the third period. Voters are given the option of selecting whomever scores the OT goal. Hard to not make that choice, when Binnington wasn't an obvious choice at that time.

Also full credit to McDavid owning the fact that most of the game he was not good. He knew that.

Amen.

Could not have said it better.

These so-called Canadians deserve to be tarred and feathered. They bring shame to Canada and what it means to be a citizen here.

They may think they're just another Canadian with differing views. But nah. They're not.

They're an exceptionally dumb and morally compromised minority, even within the conservative crowd. You're not like us.

Arguably the best US team in history still lost to a fairly mediocre Canadian team.

Goes to show that America has always been and always will be Canada's bitch on the ice.

In fairness they were arguably missing their best player (Quinn Hughes) all tournament. It'll be interesting to see how things go if they meet in the Olympics. Although if I were the league owners I would set up a Summit Series between the two teams. People would go ape#### to see them go at it over a best of seven series.

From Oilers after Dark Facebook page:

All players lifted the Trophy above their head -Except-Connor McDavid.

- Jason Strudwick: 'either, he's waiting to Lift the Cup First
(Superstitious), or he has a Shoulder Injury... '

It's the former. He seen Bigger Unfished Business.

He actually albeit grabbing it, only touched it momentary.

There are actually no pictures listed as of now of him holding it.

He cherished his Gold Medal, and he will.

But the Trophy itself is on the backburner for bigger business!

So reading between the lines, Oiler fans are relieved 97 finally won something, and he probably has a shoulder injury.

I saw a comment elsewhere about how watching a hockey program these days with Ron MacLean in it was like "opening a bottle of maple syrup and finding vinegar instead".

Rather apt, I thought.

It seems to me that you are a thoughtless moron, perhaps you think you're hard, but I truly, truly doubt you've been physically capable of that for years.

It is pure projection because they are trying to cope with how to think of themselves as strong good person, even though they have adopted a position of pure cowardliness.

Instead of defending their country, they are cowardly sucking up to the foreign leader that is attacking Canada in some pathetic attempt gain favour with the attacker. Deep down they see themselves as a loser who could never defend their friends family and country, and accepted defeat into their heart. So instead they are selling out their friends and family, in some vain attempt to save their own skin.

There are always weaker people who act like this. The Simpsons did a good job parodying it when Kent Brockman immediately sold out humanity with his "I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords" bit. But they are dangerous because they are the first ones to break, stabbing their family, friends, and countrymen in the back when they do.

And really, can you expect someone who is acting so pathetically to have the strength to be honest with themselves about what they are doing? Of course they take the route of denial, and accuse others of what they are subconsciously saying to themselves.
