That is easily one of the most disgusting things I've ever read. It may be the most disgusting.

I read a story in playboy once about a guy... doing some things to himself.... whilst utilizing the pool drain for it's apparently great suction capability. It sucked his intestines out and left him with only a few inches left for the rest of his life...

I can't remember what issue this was in but it was a couple years back.

That's definitely from the book Haunted: a Novel by Palahnuik. That exact same thing happened. I almost stopped reading the book during that part it was so gross.

Ok, it removed almost ALL of her small intestine? Isn't the small intesting like 10 ft long? On top of that, your large intestine comes AFTER the small, how was the large unaffected?

I'm confused.

They can transplant what I thought were a lot more complex organs... I wonder why they couldnt transplant a small intestine?

Tough outlook on the future for a very young person to be faced with.

Probably with hers and her parents' permission. I'm not sure what's so horrible about people knowing her name...

From the article:
"She said, 'Am I going to be on the news?' She said, 'Why do you ask?' She said, 'Because I want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else,'" recalled Taylor.

Aside from the terrible grammar (she said, she said, she said), that quote makes me think they're probably not too upset about people knowing who she is and what happened to her.

I can think of a few things I would consider less ethical.
