I don't think that Smith can afford to let LaGrange take the fall. LaGrange's job in the party has been to destroy current systems, so that they could be rebuilt in the image of whatever the hell the UCP is.
If they let her take the fall for Health, then that opens up a can of worms on the Education file that she spent the first four years destroying. LaGrange is about a bulletproof version of a psychopath that you can find. The UCP can't let her record be looked at under a microscope outside of their control.

LaGrange is the UCP's Dolores Umbridge.

So what happens when the AG's findings are at odds with Smith's "third party" findings? Is she going to suggest the AG report is not reliable and suggest their findings should be the ones to adhere to?
My understanding is that Andre Tremblay was the Deputy Minister of Health and was tapped to become interim AHS CEO. However, the dual role wasn't comfortable for the UCP cabinet so they have moved him to the AHS role while adding a new Deputy Minister of Health.
And the newly appointed DM of Health is one of the Board members they fired when they dismissed the entire board. Presumably didnt agree with the consensus that CEO should continue to investigate and refer to RCMP.
I need your help! The last AER hearing about the Grassy Mountain Mine is in Calgary on March 4th. Those of us fighting the destruction of the Eastern Slopes are holding a protest march and need it to be BIG in order to get the politicians to listen.
Could you please attend the protest? If you can come, please fill your car with friends. There is little parking downtown, but you can park near an LRT station.
This is so important.
Date: March 4
Time: 11:00
Place: 250-5th SW Calgary

Has anyone written their UCP (ugh) MLA and gotten a thoughtful response back? There's so much I want to say but no entirely sure how to say it either.
- AHS fiasco
- Grassy Mountain Coal Mine
- Danielle's stupid response to the Trump tariffs
- the cougar being killed in Canmore (this is more about the conflict of interest with Todd Loewen that's getting me)
- and more

Any good form letter that I could sign and forward? Stating the major problems, and they we expect fair minded UPC MLAs to withdraw their support from Smith in the legislature.
Especially with her playing footsie with treason off and on. The Scandal is a convenient excuse to stab her in the back, but the fact that she is not an honest and loyal Canadian citizen is the reason we should stab her in the back.
In Canada, we always act like we are the US, and the party nomination processes / leadership votes dictate who is in charge, but under the rules of our system it's the sitting MLAs who have to stop what's happening, and really it would only require ~8-9 MLA to push it to the point where it's untenable for Smith to continue.

Pete Guthrie has offered the most opposition to the ongoings from within the party. Also, rumor is he and Danielle don't like each other.
He is the Cochrane MLA- anyone here live in his riding? He would be the person I would target on a campaign of insurgency within the party.
That being said, I think he's actually more in the TBA crowd overall, so long term not aligned with what I would like to see. However, meeting him in person several times, seems like a nice and inoffensive guy and doesn't have any of those TBA red flags, so I might be wrong about his ultimate intentions.

Danielle Smith is an ever present reminder that it can always get worse.

Unlike form letters, direct messages to the Energy Minister’s inbox are logged, reviewed, and tracked. When decision-makers see a flood of emails opposing coal mining, they feel real pressure to act.

It takes just 5 minutes (in a simple two-step process) to make a real difference. Every direct email signals that Albertans won’t back down.
I am deeply opposed to the Alberta government's decision to lift the coal moratorium, opening the door to destructive projects like the Grassy Mountain coal mine and other new projects in pristine areas. I've outlined the reasons why below.
The referendum (non-binding) held in the Crowsnest Pass was a farce. There was no public debate. The vote did not include 2,000 part-time property owners in the Pass (who would be overwhelmingly opposed to the coal mine). The vote did not seek the opinion of 200,000 people that live in the Oldman watershed, or the vast majority of Albertans who are opposed.
Northback cannot be trusted - they are an Australian corporation, and their only duty is to their shareholders.
The experience in the Elk Valley has been a disaster. The watershed is poisoned down to Montana. A satellite view of the valley reveals a hellish landscape not unlike Mordor.
The contemplated economic benefits to the Pass are over-stated. Many studies show that boom and bust coal towns would have been better off without the coal mine.
New technologies make coal non-essential in steel making. Australia is already in a panic - the value of coal is about to go down the drain.
People forget the health problems associated with coal mining - black lung, cancer and accidental deaths. More people died from coal mining in the USA than from all wars since Vietnam.
The impacts will be devastating to wildlife, vegetation, water and agriculture.
Do not fear lawsuits by Northback. Their case is weak. Taxpayers will pay far more in environmental cleanup than from litigation.
Do the right thing! There is no credible argument to proceed.
Regards.,
