Canada vs United States - Four Nations Faceoff Final - Feb 20 2025

Matthew Tkachuk heard the gist of Brandon Hagel's comments from Tuesday, when the Canada forward said he and his teammates play for the flag and not the cameras, that they don't need group chats to initiate their passion for playing for the country.
It was a clear dig at the United States, specifically the Tkachuk brothers, Matthew and Brady, and everything that led up to that explosive first nine seconds in the U.S.-Canada game on Saturday.
Matthew, as expected, did not let bygones be bygones.
"Well, I mean, maybe their team doesn't like each other if they don't have group chats," the United States forward said. "That's just a player enjoying his opportunity. I think our team does not care about anything they say. There's been a lot of chatter and talk from individuals, but we care about one thing in this room. We have millions of people that are watching us and supporting us around this country and we're very prideful in playing for them and the guys in the room. So, it's an opportunity of a lifetime for us."
How expensive are tickets for the 4 Nations final? Try Stanley Cup Final Game 7 expensive.

According to one of the resellers, TickPick, the cheapest single ticket available on the site before the tournament began on Feb. 12 was $237 (listed at the all-in price, meaning without added fees). That cheapest single ticket price jumped to $1,222 as of Tuesday afternoon — a 415 percent increase. For comparison, that price was only slightly less than the cheapest single ticket on the site for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final in Sunrise, Fla., two days before puck drop, listed at $1,235, per TickPick.
The United States’ showdown with Canada on Saturday in the 4 Nations Face-Off drew an astonishing 10.1 million viewers in the US and Canada, the NHL announced on Tuesday.
The massive viewership was a combined number that included ratings from Sportsnet, CITY, SN+, TVA Sports and ABC.
One of international hockey’s greatest rivalries, the Canadians and Americans have met 20 times in best-on-best tournaments since the 1976 Canada Cup, with Canada holding a 14-5-1 advantage.
This will be the fifth time the rivals will clash in a tournament finale; Canada swept the best-of-three final in the 1991 Canada Cup, only for the U.S. to get that win back in a three-game thriller in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. And, of course, they have met in a pair of Olympic gold medal games – in 2002, when Canada ended a 50-year drought, and the 2010 instant classic in Vancouver that ended with Crosby’s iconic Golden Goal.
All-time record: Canada leads 14-5-1 (2-0 in OT)
Canada goals: 71
United States goals: 32
Pretty smart of Hagel. Tkachuk has been known to let opponents psych him out even after he supposedly got the upper hand in a previous game. Doughty did it and I would argue so did Kassian.
If Mario Lemieux and Scott Niedermayer want to fight you, you should probably reevaluate your life.
