Putin is seasoned enough to know how to play validation-seeking morons like Trump like a fiddle.
Buttered him up with his compliments around "real man" behaviour and "bravery" following the election.

I don't know if this is true or not but allegedly ppl have known this since the early 2000s but pension/retirement papers are still paper and not digitized yet and they stored in a limestone mine?
Musk is a dolt or dotard for sure but if that bit of bureaucracy is real, that's a thing that needs to be cleaned up regardless of political leanings.

Maybe it got buried but I'm pretty sure Trump was exposed as a Russian asset in his 1st term. Maybe they were just trying really hard to prove it and didn't get anywhere. At any rate, it was never going to be a surprise Trump's Administration would be costing up to Russia. Megalomaniac love other megalomaniac, no better reference than Musk.

Mars is just a Musk grift to get NASA money. He's no where close to getting to Mars. The first step any common sense approach would be to establish a moon base to test your stuff, iterate, get it right. Then you apply those lessons(and there will be many) to the big mission. This is how you know Musk is not serious. This isn't a serious thing. Any talk of Mars is just continuing the long play grift.
As to the mines thing, ya, apparently they tried for years to convert the process to digital and are making progress, slowly.

While that can be said, it’s still the same players and culture behind the scenes who ran the Soviet Union, including the leader who was a KGB officer. And their top allies are China and NoKo.
I think when we’re looking at political extremes we end up at a similar place with similar features.
