Just to clarify, when I said "those nazis" I mean as a whole, team USA is representing a fascist government/country that is threatening out sovereignty and economy. I don't think ratboy or his weird little brother are nazis.

It ought not be a “do we approve of your head of state” litmus test. I don’t really enjoy it anyway. I don’t cheer for people because they were born near me or where I live now; it’s so nativist.

This is such a stupid post I hope you just forgot the green text. No, russia isn't included because people "disapprove of their head of state" it's because they're waging a vicious war on Ukrainians that has resulted in an entire generation of Ukrainians being decimated. Boiling down heinous war crimes to disapproval of their state leader is such a scumbag post. I hope your sunday ####ing sucks and you get a parking ticket or photo radar or something.

Very kind. I’m sure Nikita Zadorov was responsible.

Are you really this stupid or are you just trying to be annoying? Honestly. Serious question.

I would have been in favour of the USA being banned for an Olympics after Iraq.

I’m being serious. How are Russian hockey players any more responsible for that disaster than Zach Werenski is for US tariffs on Chinese goods? Should we hold Colton Parayko to account for the actions of Justin Trudeau next?
It’s trivially silly. But, yeah, nationalism! Someone sing an anthem or something.

Not stupid. Just wants you and your anger to dissappear to the off topic section.
Or go see a therapist.
Or both.

At this point in the tournament, it’s one and done. With no reason to leave anything in the tank or keep guys fresh, coaches are going to be shortening the bench. They’re not going to roll four lines, no matter how they’re assembled.

No Dave Cameron involved. The outcome is Canadian domination if the right players where at that tournament.
This narrative that US is the new power in hockey is laughable, Ryan Whitney and barstool the cronies going on about it and changing of the guard... This thing isn't over......
Put best on best at any age on the ice..... Ill take the Canadians every single time. We need to get management and coaching politics out of team selection , its worse then minor hockey rep teams at the moment.

Last night was the greatest start to a hockey game I’ve seen in decades. Never thought the tourney was going to be a glorified all star game. That said I never thought it would reach that level of intensity. Well done nhl.

Yes American hockey program has been doing a better job over the last few years. They are ahead of Canada right now. Results speak for themselves.

Hockey Canada needs a revamp from the old boys club. The program is tainted until all the creeps are out. Without a doubt the USA is catching Canada. Tons of top end talent.

I for one was routing for them to keep Tom Wilson off the roster .....this was probably a mistake.
We need a big hitter on the backend and possibly throw Tom Wilson up front with a couple guys he can protect.
Questionable Spots :
Cirelli
Hagel ( although props to the kid for coming out swinging last night ) Canadian Pride !
Omissions:
Wilson
Bedard
Konecny and jarvis I dont think have been terrible....when given the chance.... same as marchand and bennett.
Who are the guys that are looked at this team for the olympics with what they have seen so far:
Bedard
Tom Wilson
Owen Power
Byfield
weegar
dougie hamilton
evan bouchard
montour
ekblad
celebrini
wyatt johnson
dylan holloway
guenther
Who is in the discussion now ?

Hagel, as it stands today, is the 4th highest Canadian goal scorer in the entire NHL.

Binnington made some great saves but let in 2 soft ones.
McDavid had no help.
MacKinnon, Mariner & Crosby did nothing.
The 4th line hardly played.
Too much politics involved in picking the team.
Huberdeau and Weeger would surely have helped.
Marc-Andre Fleury in goal - yes
Anyone but Cooper. He plays his favourites to death.

Lol. I see he left the thread after you responded. Good advice, but in case it isn’t heeded, let him be mad.
Banning teams from international hockey is a proven method to punishing their governments and forcing them to change their policies. Works every time it’s tried.
