When I hear Nemec + Mercer for Andersson, my first instinct to say that’s an overpay by New Jersey. But, at the same time, I think it will take an overpay in order to get Conroy to trade Andersson this season… so maybe it’s not that crazy.

I don't know. Mercer struggled earlier this year and Nemec hasn't exactly taken up his place either. IMO both players value isn't as high as I would have suspected at the beginning of the season.

I personally don't think Fitzgerald would be keen on dealing both, especially considering last years proposed deal was much more important to them and he didn't want to include Mercer. Now we're asking for a perceived diminished Mercer AND Nemec? Can't see it happening.

Mercer and Nemec for Andersson and Coleman?

Flames likely wouldn’t move 2 of their 6 vets but that is a return that gets 2 young pieces with high upside. It was rumored the Devils tried to sign Coleman back when he was UFA and he obviously played there before.

Flames retain? Any other adds on either side?

Jersey is not that deep on the wings, and the only two wing prospects worth mentioning are playing (well) in Europe. I think Mercer doesn't go anywhere, but I could see NJ wanting a wing in the deal.

Luckily, Calgary has a surplus.

I could see Andersson plus Pospisil while looking to get back Nemec plus probably a nice pick/prospect. There are ways to make the cap work.

Stranger things had happened, but losing Mercer would make a big hole in the top six of Jersey.
