I'm growing more and more tired with Gibbons' act as this season goes on. Today doesn't help either. Bases loaded, 1 out, with a 1-0 lead in the 7th and they let Royce Clayton bat with Troy Glaus available as a pinch-hitter. Quick double play and Seattle still has a chance.

Clayton is already frustrated with lack of playing time. Sometimes you need to manage your team to ensure guys feel like they are being given a chance to contribute and that the manager has confidence in them. If it was the 9th I agree - but in that specific situation I think you let Clayton hit.

Let him be frustrated.
If the guy wants playing time he should do a little better than a 600 OPS. The guy is producing less than a replacement player would (based on Value Over Replacement Player (VORP)). With stats like that the guy should be worried about getting released and not playing time.

Marcum keeps pitching amazing ball games and keeps getting screwed with these no decisions. Some of our overpriced players need to step up there damn game, this team is getting better pitching then they expected this year, yet there offence is horrid for the amount they're paying.
Fire John Gibbons now!

Terrible pitching by the A's tonight. I guess this is what happens when Harden is still in the bullpen and Loaiza still on the shelf. Its really amazing that the A's are over .500 right now considering they have used the DL 16 times already this season.

Can someone explain to me what the hell Glaus was doing trying to take 2nd on a fly ball to CF? I mean, your team is down by a run with Stairs and Hill coming up, 2 guys with decent pop. I just don't get it. Its little things that sometimes determine the outcome of a game.

oh man, blanton=great preformance, good player. litsch was steady allowing two runs, both unearned. as usual, the jays consistently inconsistent.

jays going absolutely godzilla on the A's right now...it's 10-0 in the 8th. wells has a homer, and Mcgowan is still throwing in the bottom of the 8th. nice.

Just looking at the stats, Hill is having an interesting day. 0/4 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. You don't usually see too many productive 'O'fers.

Man you guys talk about the Jays being inconsistent, the same goes for my A's. Right now they have 2 solid starters in Haren and Blanton, the rest of the patch job rotation as really fallen back to earth, I guess Gaudin has had a decent year but Kennedy sucks, and DiNardo has lost anything he had when he first went into the rotation. For the first time in a lot of years the A's haven't went on their huge June-July-August winning streak. It won't be much longer and the A's will give some kids, like Suzuki, a lot more playing time, though I keep hearing from my buddies in Oakland that Beane would like to make a serious pitch for Adam Dunn.

Dumb though. JP is the one that signed him and it was clear what he was getting. A great talent who has problems staying healthy. No surprise that's what AJ has delivered.
JP should be calling himself out.

Please just shut your mouth JP. I really don't want to make time to hear JP go off again in the media about a player, while we watch another year of .500 baseball from the Jays.
Thank god the Jays are finally getting some decent pitching out of the young arms we've been hearing about for years now. While Zambrano, Ohka, and Thompson are nowhere to be found
