As there are no juniors practices, the coach just has to stand behind the bench. You could pick literally anyone.
4 nations teams pick themselves.
Same with olympics.
No salary caps to manage.
It’s easy to build the team; you just ask to see the passport.
Merchandising is easy. A red shirt, a white shirt, a black shirt, and a fourth “special edition” based upon some team from the past. (Check with Ron Maclean for backgrounds on shirts pre-1950).
Motivational speeches are easy. “Go Canada go” and “do it for all of the kids skating on ponds with broken down skates”. To really motivate, screech “dig in…right flipping now.” I saw that last one on tv.
I’m kinda busy during the day, so I won’t do interviews. That means I can’t say something stupid.
Now that I think about it…maybe I should run for prime minister too!
