That was a fireable if not criminal offence.

Weegar is on a beach in Mexico with his family not hanging around in Boston waiting for an injury to be able to speak to the team he should be on

Saturday will be good.
USA will have an advantage on the cycle but I think Canada will have the advantage off the rush.

They put it together fast and had to fit it in 9-10 days.
In 2028 it will be 8 teams and better planned.

One of the bigger blunders in recent NHL history. How often does a superstar player leave their franchise at that age? It was an absurd deal the minute it was signed. It was basically a 3 year deal that would walk him out of Calgary the day it was signed.
Treliving was up and down as a GM but that deal and letting Gaudreau enter his final year without a contract were historic blunders from what turned out to be an absolute embarrassment of a GM in Calgary. He literally destroyed this franchise with some baffling management decisions.

So after this it’ll be US 3 points, Canada 2, Sweden 1 and Finland 0.
With Canada US going either way Canada needs that win against Finland next week.

It's also not done with the IIHF so you need teams that have enough NHLers to build a full roster.
These four teams (and Russia) are the only countries that can do that right now.
Czech has 28 NHLers but only 4 dmen. Nobody else is close.
If Russia didn't have their political issues I think you could have seen 6 teams, with Finland, Canada, Russia, Sweden, USA, and a "Rest of the World" roster because that's really the only way to do it with only NHLers included.

Weegar instead of Doughty and Logan Thompson over that one guy and Canada probably has this thing in the bag.
But as it stands the US is the team to beat.
They'll need Bennett.

Our beef with the USA aside. The pure Canadian in me is very happy for Keith tkachuk. 1st star Chucky, 2nd star Brady. Cool, cool moment as a father to see that on this stage. Proud father moment. Happy for the entire Tkachuk family.

While I hope Canada wins, I hope Tkachuk riles up McDavid.
