Just a friendly reminder that this is Conservative MP Candice Bergen, who a majority of sitting CPC Members of Parliament freely voted to be their interim party leader in 2022 after they ousted Erin O'Toole:

As for vaccine research, I believe in the real science, not the one forcefed down our throats by the mainstream media, which I know is the only one you believe to be true. No rational human being would believe that a "brand new" virus had a vaccine available in no time at all. I always like to follow the money in these situations. Would love to see the profit numbers big pharma raised from covid 19 alone.

Ah, ya, you are exactly who I thought you were. Have fun in dumb land.

For those in disbelief when it comes to how Trump is dragging PP down by association, this opinion column does a good job of illustrating things: https://torontosun.com/opinion/colum...ervatives-fast
Long story short, he’s spent so long aping Trump and the association (which he desired) has become so strong that it will take more than some flaccid days-too-late “omg Canada IS sovereign!” speech to reverse course and change perception.
PP made the bed. It’s nobody’s fault but his that he doesn’t like how it feels when laying in it.

While I agree with you on the current batch, you do have to have these people to do stuff. I don't know how you prevent them from having undue un-elected influence. Make politicians use bureaucrats so they don't pick their own? I dunno. What do real countries do?

Thanks for your response. Now I know, as well as everyone else on this board know exactly who you are.
I'm sure you already know about, and support the letter 'M' added to the LGTBQ.

You do know that antisemitism has found a home with the NDP. I see Pep thanked your post. I’m sure he will explain for you.

I think you are thinking of the potted plant, Rempel. She's strangely been more reasonable than the rest of her party lately.

"Real science", "mainstream media", not understanding how vaccine development works, "big pharma" and I'm sure if you went on longer than paragraph this list would be enormous. By saying "No rational human being would believe" you are basically denigrating an entire field of scientific study and the scientists who do it, in favour of your own whims.
But please, don't let us stop you. Carry on.

How about we start with the 'real science' part where mRNA technology, which had been been in development since the 1990s, and human-tested for the first time in 2013. By the time COVID hit, this technology was safe and ready for mass production - we are incredibly lucky and fortunate for that development. mRNA technology is now being developed to protect against respiratory viruses such as the flu, and again HIV.

Ok sorry I wasn't aware how much knowledge you had when it came to viruses and vaccine development. You have made a compelling argument and I am now convinced.
So what are your thoughts on pedophiles being treated so well in Canada? You kind of just forgot about the real focus and only want to talk about covid. You either support their decision or you don't have kids and don't give a ####.

The fight against antisemitism is a shared responsibility that unites all Canadians in which New Democrats are strongly committed. Our country must work tirelessly to eliminate antisemitism from our society.
|
Quote:
Since the adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism by the Liberal government, New Democrats and progressive Jewish organizations, including the Progressive Israel Network, New Israel Fund of Canada, Independent Jewish Voices Canada and human rights groups, have raised concerns about its capacity to silence legitimate criticism of state institutions and their actions. Notably, Kenneth Stern, the original drafter of the IHRA definition, raised similar concerns, arguing that the weaponization of the definition had threatened free expression and the open exchange of constructive ideas.
|
Quote:
Antisemitism is an evil that must be confronted head-on. In doing so, we must ensure that in our fight against racism and hate, we do not inadvertently undermine the values of freedom of expression and efforts to counter other forms of hate, including anti-Palestinian racism. By adopting a more balanced approach that safeguards democratic freedoms, we can build a Canada that is free of antisemitism and protect the rights of all its citizens.

The party of anti-semitism?

Typically when a person show s just how little they are capable of thinking critically, I don't waste my time chasing other rabbit holes they try to send me down.
But if you need reassurance of my position, ya, pedophilia=bad. You may have noticed my stance in other pedophile related threads, like the ones discussing the Catholic Church.

Yes, very different. Someone with a base line understanding of the scientific method would know that science isnt an answer to a question, it is tons of working theories stacked on top of each other to offer a potential understanding of the events around us.
Science also knows it can be incorrect, which is why it takes only one test to take down a widely held theory. Now you claim this was a new disease, however history says the first example of a coronavirus in a human was in 1965. In fact the SARS outbreak in 2003 was also a coronavirus.
https://www.webmd.com/covid/coronavirus-history
And like Johnny Makarov (Muta , whoops) said, MRNA had been studied for years and years prior to COVID. There was overlap between these 2 instances which led to a vaccine being widely available in relatively short order.
Now I don’t expect any of this to be absorbed by you, and I’m sure the words “fake news” are sitting on the tip of your tongue. Enjoy the horsepaste.
