I have absolutely no interest in this at any level, not sure why the powers that be figured we needed yet another useless tournament. I'd rather watch NFL pro-bowl flag football than this, or even a North Korean min golf tournament if there was such a thing...

I am a Calgary fan before I am a Canada fan on the lower level international events but when its for Olympic gold you got to cheer for a guy like Corey Perry, even if it pains you a bit.

I am intrigued by this proposition and am willing to finance such an endeavour.

Upon the condition that the contestants are not allowed to practice before the tournament and there must be hole where they have to get the ball between Kim Jong Un's legs....like Lincoln or the windmill.

I’m modestly interested in this tournament. It’s the closest thing to best on best hockey (and Sam Bennett) that we’ve had in years. While it’s too short to really build any interesting storylines, the quality of hockey should be high as long as the players give a crap. If they treat it like dollar store olympics, it should be entertaining, if it’s an elongated all star game, I won’t bother to watch more than one game.

Either way it (should be) the best hockey we will get before the olympics.

I really do want to cheer for team Canada to do well but I just can’t bring myself to cheer for a team with McDavid on it.

Wonder if he’ll struggle with the idea that he can’t stay on the ice as long as he wants.

Sure, but of those players, Bracco was drafted and played in the AHL and couldn't make the NHL, and both Sylvegard and Aktell recently had North American contracts terminated.



Simple fact is there are not a lot of Panarins out there. Even when top guys come over (Shipachov) they don't impress. Kuzmenko had a year with an insane shooting percentage and one really hot streak with the Flames.

Is this a NHL sanctioned tournament? If it is, Canada, namely McDavid will win Gold. Since NHL cannot rigged it enough for McDiver to win the Stanley Cup, they'll give him the next best thing.

This is an NHL tournament. Not just sanctioned by them; they are the organizer.

This has zilch to do with the IIHF.

Hence why a lot of people don't care for it. It's just an NHL money grab dressed up as a tournament.
