Weather is really the only downside.
And it isn't winter per se, its winter showing up when it shouldn't.
I've been caught in snow every month of the year.
If winter was late Nov/early Dec to mid March it would be no worries, but when it shows up in early October and doesn't leave till early May.....like #### off already

Calgary should move to Edmonton, we don’t have an Edmonton on the forum.
Or do we? I can’t be bothered to look.

Edmonton is significantly more left-leaning on average than Calgary. This is likely due to its influence as a government city, but it should still be noted.
As for this poster, why engage? It isn't as though you are going to have some sort of breakthrough at this point; there is no motivation for change. He is a member of the cult at this point and is more than happy to parrot any of the talking points blindly and willfully. His social sphere is likely small; it is one where he isn't challenged often, and when he is, it is likely dismissed with a new pejorative bandied about by his false idols. He is the type of person who will rally against DEI but can't really offer any evidence for how diversity, equity, or inclusion initiatives have had any negative impact on his life.
Do I think that the NDP is fantastic and without fault? No. In my own political journey, I supported Allison Redford as I thought she was good for the province at the time, but I don't think she handled certain roles very well and the poor use with government resources made it time for her to be replaced. I really liked Jim Prentice and I think he would have made a fantastic premier who could work with others and had a brilliant mind when I had the opportunity to speak with him. The fact that he was the most honest politician I have encountered, someone who was willing to tell the electorate that they shared responsibility for the state of the Province was refreshing and candid.
In general, I don't see any of the things that I admire in leaders in Smith - she is intellectually dishonest and has repeated and significant allegations of corruption. She went to the United States to try and negotiate against the needs of the entire country, her fiscal policies have been short sighted and have placed increased burdens onto municipalities.
The fact that the government kickbacks in a public setting are being pushed under the carpet is worrisome for the state of politics in this province.

Far left and far right all come off as extremely unhappy people and I expect unhappy people in general are more likely to gravitate to the extremes so there's likely a lot of overlap.

I do agree that people need to be consistent with scandals or corruption and it looks like there’s a lot of smoke with Smith. That said I do wonder about what people consider “corrupt”.
The health care thing- it’s most troublesome she went and fired the CEO the way she did and all of that stinks massively. Agree. Seems like something super sketchy is going on and Smith SHOULD be held to account or canned if it’s all true.
BUT. The article sort of insinuates the “payment” (if you will) are “luxury tickets to an NHL hockey game” and I’m just not sure that really falls into the realm of like bribery / corruption or whatever. This happens literally all the time in the business world and I don’t think most people consider taking clients or people to a game as underhanded bribery or whatever.

I think it's more cronyism than bribery.
