Vanderhoof, BC recently had some repugnant, hateful people send in letters to the local school. It all started with vandalism of a rainbow crosswalk so you know their next target were teachers "poisoning" their minds with gay acceptance.

And I said that single-sex facilities will be respected as such. Only those of the biological sex of the restroom or the changing room or the locker room will be allowed to use those facilities.

^ Journalism like this is a perfect example of why we need the CBC. A deep dive like this would never happen at one of our big media conglomerates.

It is also an example of why some politicians, fuelled by their far-right, evangelical base, would prefer that the CBC cease to exist.
