I watched the David Lynch thriller Wild at Heart with Nic Cage and Laura Dern. Damn what an interesting unique film. I haven't seen too many Lynch films (this is probably my 2nd film I've seen of his after Mulholland Drive) but this was truly captivating. Based upon a novel the basic story is Cage and Dern are lovers on the run from Derns Mother who puts a hit out on Cage. I also gotta say Cage is the coolest mother ####er to ever grace the silver screen.

My fave fun fact about Wild at Heart is that the snakeskin jacket was actually a jacket that Cage owned and suggested they use. Then after the movie he gave that coat to Dern because he now felt like it belonged to her.

Just rewatched Full Metal Jacket, I know Kubrick filmed all of Eyes Wide Shut in England and preferred to work there but I had no idea he shipped in hundreds of palm trees and all of the Vietnam scenes were filmed outside of London.
R Lee Ermey ran his lines while having tennis balls thrown at him, he had to catch them and throw them back while running his lines until he could nail all the dialouge perfectly.
By far my favorite war movie.

R Lee Ermey was an actual Marine Drill Instructor and was barely acting at all. He was signed on to the film as a consultant and ended up stealing the job because he was just that good.
RIP Mr. Ermey. I'm sure you're in Heaven because the Devil was too scared to take you.
Full Metal Jacket is amazing. I love every bit of it.

And the actor that was to be the DI was given the role of door gunner that doesn't lead women & children as much

Companion: Premise had potential but I found that it left something to be desired. Same creator as Barbarian, but that one was way more insane and this movie needed some of that. Seems absurd to have sex bots with "intelligence" and "aggression" slide bars on their settings lol. Had a good laugh at that at least. 6/10
Heart Eyes: Best romantic slasher film I've seen in years if not ever. It was really entertaining. Some great gags. One was a little reminiscent of Austin Powers and had us rolling. Well cast, fun characters and the lead couple had chemistry. Some creative kills and great sound design to make the obscene gore pop! 9/10

It's cool to me that Zach Cregger and Josh Rubin were known for sketch comedy before making horror movies.

Haven't heard of this trilogy, will give it a go. Looks like only Roadkill is up on Prime.
It's been a while, but I remember all three films being great.
Roadkill
Highway 61
and of course, one of the greatest movies I've ever seen...Hard Core Logo
Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't do it any real justice. Callum Keith Rennie and yes, that is the Headstones frontman Hugh Dillon. Just an incredibly funny, touching, dramatic, and raw movie. I can't recommend it enough.
Yes, the Canadian band Billy Talent got their namesake from the character in this movie.

Have you seen Hard Core Logo 2? I have no idea if it's any good.
Is Con Air the greatest action movie ever? It's certainly top 10 for me, just an absurd premise that on paper shouldn't work as well as it does. Nic Cage with his glorious mullet, and Trisha Yearwood with the theme song. To me Con Air is cinema

I saw it once when it came out, and I remember it being pretty bad. The original film is arguably the greatest rock n' roll road movie ever made. Part 2 is completely unnecessary and doesn't really add much to the story.
