Don't forget they have referees traveling with the team.

That’s the only way to get staples his super slow motion replays showing that mctantrum is better than Broberg and Holloway.

I'm old enough to remember when the league officially forbade organists at games to play ‘Three Blind Mice’. I believe the home team could be assessed a bench minor if the organist did that.
Eventually they ‘solved’ the problem by adding a fourth blind mouse. There are no songs about four blind mice.

What?? That cant be real.

Oh, it's true:

He was arguably the first sports arena organist to match songs to events during games and his favorite target was the referee. When National Hockey League Hall of Fame defenceman and later referee Francis "King" Clancy called a penalty, Melgard would play "Clancy Lowered the Boom". Sometime in the late 1950s, he decided to greet the referee and linesmen when they came onto the ice before the start of the game with "Three Blind Mice". This practice ended quickly after a tersely worded order from NHL president Clarence Campbell.

Wonder what percentage of revenue is from the sale of Bobby Nick’s burgers?
Also, love the snide remark by creepy/cringey sink-pisser Staples about the Flames’' revenue being less than half of that of the 'Coil…

8 extra home gates in the playoffs does not bring in that much $. $1-2 million per game?

I don't remember them putting in the rule, but I remember the rule being mentioned in the media as a thing currently in force.

Some of the increase in Edmonton’s franchise value is due to the arrival of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Some is due to the $600-million-plus deal worked out in 2012 with Stephen Mandel’s city council to build a new Downtown arena, which has spurred on more than $2 billion in private investment in Edmonton.
But most of the credit goes to the team’s loyal supporters, the cult of Edmonton hockey. The Oilers owe their existence and business success to their fanaticism
so he's trying to tell us that if they hadn't fallen backwards into McDavid, and they were still wandering around in Buffalo Sabres territory while playing out of Northlands, that they would be a top earning team? he can't be that daft can he? forget it

It would be a lot more than that just in ticket sales.
I found this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/EdmontonOil...easedthoughts/
Face value (which is what the Oilers would have made) for the cheapest seats for the Final was $300, up to $1600 for the most-expensive seats. If the average was $600, that's over $11 million per game.
That's just for the tickets. Add on overpriced beer/food/merchandise, and it's a lot more.

The league takes a big percentage of playoff gate receipts right off the top – I have read 30 to 50 percent – and puts that money into revenue sharing.

So sad. Oilers didn’t get the refs back to back.
