Another rough one.

Flames need the break badly.

This is what game breaking elite talent gets you.

That's why so many of us wanted a top 5 pick. So frustrating.

Didn't give up. I honestly think there are a lot of injuries, and exhaustion. Hopefully, the break will solve most of it.

First time haven’t seen Backlund on a PK in a while for a full 2 mins, and 2 shifts.
Also terrible with 27% on faceoffs.

Huberdeau and Kadri played hard and played well. Kadri 77% on faceoffs. But Pospisl, Coronato and others were invisible.

Who knew Kevin Bahl would be the glue that held the D together? This 4 Nations couldn’t come at a better time. Hopefully Solovyov is an improvement on Miromanov.

Let's be honest though a top 5 pick doesn't even guarantee that. There is no top 5 pick this season that projects to be MacKinnon IMO.

MacKinnon is a top 2 player in the world and makes everyone around him that much better. It's starting to look like he made Rantanen look a lot better than maybe he actually is, and Makar's stats without MacKinnon aren't amazing either.

In the end they look like a tired team tonight, squeak out the win against Seattle to make sure you finish this tough 10 game stretch at .500 and then use the break to get healthy and get some energy back.

Half the d is just awful. Nothing to lose from rotating some fresh blood in there.

Also, pray for Bahl.

Every team has similar schedule why this team need to get to the break quicker? You cannot blame the schedule. This team has no top end talents.

I am curious on why Backlund’s play drop off so much. He seems like he is not even trying.

If he’s injured they should just sit him.

Don't think there's a mackinnon or a makar in this draft. So I don't know what you want.

Also out-sucking the bottom teams is MUCH harder than most people think.

You have to lose, a lot.

Flames are head and shoulders above those teams despite boasting no high end talents.

There is next year. Then there is Makar the following year.

If you are rebuilding, the next two seasons do have franchise-changing picks at the top. This year is just really good for centers.

I'd be happy with a Necas at this point.

Had a bad game. Only the second time this year with under 16 minutes ice time.

Yeah, what do people want the Flames throwing games? They arent a bottom 5 team, get over it.

Tanking almost never works too, you just end up ####ty for a very long time. It is sad that even loses frustrate the pro tanking crowd. Better to build a good team than to build a loser, thankfully Conroy has a plan to build a team that can compete for the Stanley Cup and not one that can compete for first overall.

They might already have the Makar

I think this team has exhausted its talent level. It’s been a valiant effort but it’s probably likely they will lose more than they win now.

I don't think anyone projected Kucherov, Pastrnak, or Kyle Connor, but here we are. Scouts have to hit, no more Honzeks.
