Yep, thats a transaction.

So Rooney stays at C for tonight and I assume Hunt takes one of the wings.

Klapka sitting?

Stop cycling spare parts around the 4th line and actually change the purpose of the 4th line - it's the only thing that might help it.

Stromgren - Kerins - Klapka

or

Lomberg - Rooney - Klapka

I know what line I'd rather see a team that supposed to be "re-building" or "re-tooling" playing, especially since the "veteran" line has been pretty terrible and we know it's not going to get better.

Why does a team desperate for centers, and for scoring have a kid that put up 4 point in his first 5 NHL games and who led the AHL in scoring for much of the season back down in the AHL.

Klapka has been the only player on that line to shown any sign of life or ability to make impact plays, so naturally he would be the one to come out.

Huska has done a ton of things right this year, but the handling of the 4th line is not one of them. When you are a team that relies on incredibly tight margins - you simply can't have a line out there that is a consistent liability every night.

Kevin Rooney has an xGF of 28.56% over the last 20 games. He's been outscored 11-1 during that stretch. Lomberg has been marginally better, but still not good enough.

SuperMatt is right.. The only way we can expect different result from the 4th line is with a complete restructuring. Blaming the revolving door of young guys stepping into that line instead of Rooney and Lomberg is why we have one of the worst lines in the NHL playing every night.

Hunt will always have a special place in my heart after his big goal against the oilers last season. Don't mind him playing 4th line with Lombo and Klapka

Husk get's his person security blanket back.

Dude seemed to love Hunt last year like MacTavish used to use Toby Peterson.

Good. The 4th line needs to be stabilized and he’s a steady, reliable known quantity who can help.

Agree. Right now with Bahl & Zary out, we really need to raise the floor of the team. Hunt and Solovyov do that...even if just a small amount.

Scouring the farm depths for anybody to replace Rooney. Bishop couldn't do it, maybe Hunt can?

I don’t mind Hunt. I thought he played well last season. Seems to have some offensive upside.

Hunt is good on the PK. He has earned the call up for sure.

Moving into the line up right away makes sense. The 4th line has been awful and the PK not good. They are looking for a player who will step up and help. At least until Zary is back and everyone re-slots

Only way the 4th line will stop being such a big hole of crap is to stop playing Roondawg & Lomberghini regularly, especially Rooney.

Put Rooney on waivers & put Lomberg on regular (or semi-regular) healthy scratch duties.

It's not even that it's 1987 or that it's an old school mentality.

It's just the "Safe" mentality. Play these Low Upside, Lower risk players on the 4th line instead of Higher Upside, Higher Risk players.

Which really describes Huska as a coach as a whole - very risk averse.
