Is it possible we might even see cooperation between the Libs and CPC should either win a minority government?

The latter, never. They only exist to be anti-matter to each other, even when their policies significantly overlap.

The former, I hope so, but it would take some serious reversal on long-standing policies and even then there would be a credibility gap. Best case would be we have a more successful/effectuve Paul Martin.

The Liberals might go back to fiscal right and social left but no chance they work with the Conservatives

Hopefully it’s just her base pandering to her separatist agenda. She was ready to sell out Canada and that should never be forgotten.

Has she said anything yet about agriculture or any other industries besides O&G? You’d between that and mining she might be pissing her base off a bit

I mean, hard to talk about carbon tax and Canada being broken, when our sovereignty is under attack by the US and have much harder pressing issues happening right now (which the CPC really has no ability to action on not being government).

Quote:
"The carbon tax is no longer the ballot box question," a Conservative source in Western Canada told Radio-Canada. "But we've invested so much money fine-tuning that message, it's hard to abandon it completely."

"The start of a tariff war with the United States is changing voters' moods. It's harder to talk about a broken Canada when there's a growing sense of patriotism," another Conservative source said
It's the right thing to do, being tone deaf about Carbon Tax Carney at the moment isn't really the message Canadians want to hear right now. At the current moment, Liberals are who are credited for fighting back Trump and the incumbent tends to gain from patriotic and crisis situations (as the Liberals hoped to take advantage during covid).

It may be real unfortunate timing for them, but we have a madman down south that right wing elements have cozied up to for years (and in Smith's case running a province while bending down for Trump).

How Ford handled the tariff discussions was fine, but calling a provincial election early in the middle of this was downright irresponsible. At least with the delay now their election will be finished before tariffs hit (if they do). But if tariffs had gone into effect this weekend basically Ontario would not have even had the ability to recall their legislature to respond.

Yup.

Nobody should be fooled by that clown. He played everything to his advantage and kinda looks like a moron doing so.

And lets be clear, if the roles were reversed, and it was the Conservatives refusing to call back Parliament, the Liberal boot lickers would be screaming about it.

Which shows the partisan nature of it doesn’t it? As someone currently without party (for nearly 25 years now) I see it for what it is. A tool used by the government in one last gasp. Harper did it, the liberals did it.

So I prefer to look at the current scenario, aside from the gong show that is question period what exactly is served by recalling parliament at this time? Trudeau is going to resign, the liberals need a new leader, what is to be accomplished by returning? Government still functions, as seen on the weekend, so what do you want done?

Of course it was calculated, if the tariffs came into effect and Ontario was plunged into recession it would hurt his chances in the next election. It was still irresponsible and personally I hope the people of Ontario see through it and punish him at the polls.

Sliver is going to be on your ass for that statement! lol

The poisonous fentanyl snake!! We need to appoint a fentanyl czar so Trump can delay tariffs another 3 days.

Quote:
In a nearly six-minute video on fentanyl and his new policy, Poilievre said kingpins associated with the Falkland lab and other sites are "killing our people" and "endangering our trade with our closest ally," because Trump has made rooting out fentanyl a top priority.

"Whether we agree with him or not, we shouldn't be taking action to stop drugs just to please him," Poilievre said of Trump. "We should do it so not one more mother must bury her face in her hands in agony after her son overdosed and died in a back alley."

"By locking up the big bosses and throwing away the key, we will cut the head off of the poisonous fentanyl snake," he said.
