Time for Ilya to fly solo. No more AHL for him.

I love this. But I wonder what the reluctance is for calling up Poirier?

Soloyov and Kuznetsov IMO are ahead of Poirier.

I would love to see Kuznetsov more than anyone right now, but I get why Soloyov is getting the crack.

I think Poirier isn't strong enough defensively iirc

Who would we trade though? Haha

I want it to happen too but I don't know how.

It would have to be apart of a bigger trade probably involving a defense (hence why he was called up) and something else

I don't know if it should be a consideration when making a call up, but if Solovyov (who turns 25 in July) doesn't see an NHL path going forward, he could be tempted to play in the KHL. It's kind of a critical stage of his career when you consider when players peak and earning potential. Poirier and Kuznetsov still have a little more time on their hands.

Also, Solovyov and Poirier have almost the same offensive stats this year on the Wranglers, so might as well bring up the guy who is defensively better.

Would any team have much interest in any of our dmen not named Andersson, Weegar or Bahl?

Who would have thought anyone would have interest in Kuzmenko or Pelletier?

Man, we are rich in blueline prospects. Parekh, Mews, Brzustewicz, Morin, Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Poirier, Grushnikov... all of them with NHL potential. That's in addition to Bahl and Pachal, who are both young as well. 10 young defencemen, all who can potentially make a difference in the NHL on our blueline (two already doing it).

Unreal.

Good. Put Barrie on waivers. Then when Bahl is back put Bean in the press box for good.

I meant who would want any of our current NHL dmen, outside of the top 3, btw. Not sure if this was directed at me but figured I would clarify.

Everyone would want several of our D prospects. We just need some C's and things don't look so bad.

He would have to play 10 cumulative NHL games or have 30 cumulative days on an NHL roster before requiring waivers again.

Personally, I think we should seriously consider moving a D prospect if it helps secure another needed centre prospect; playing currently in the NHL or not.

I think Pachal would have positive value, but I can't see the Flames trading him just after extending him. I think they see him as a part of the future.

In a world where Bahl is injured then Solovoyov or Kuznetsov made the most sense - personally think I would have preferred Kuznetsov just because he's 2 years younger and think he has more of a long term future with the team.

Once Bahl is back though I'd like to see Poirier.

Bahl - Andersson
Bean - Weegar
Poirier - Pachal

I think Poirier with his puck moving ability could be a good foil for Pachal on the third pair.
