Conny says both Zary and Bahl will be back after the break and both are skating.

He would be an upgrade but IMO that's a Brad Treliving move. Playoffs is very possible this year, but we are not winning. Experience is what is needed for our young guy's not Carson Soucy.

Should have just kept Tanev if we are after Soucy.

Conroy does his best work at the tail end of January. We'll have to wait a year for a big deal.

Don't have NTCs? It's easier to list those that have them

M-NTC:
Backs
Coleman
Sharangovich
Andersson
Mantha

Full NTC:
Weegar

NMC:
Huberdeau until 29/30 then a M-NTC

With that said Craig knows Rasmus is his #1 value piece, the 2 sides need to figure out what the long term plan is.
Watching Hanley out on the PK with Bahl being injured says to me that the Flames will take a pretty big step back if they move out one of Andersson, Bahl or Weegar.

I don't see it happening unless, as you say, Andersson refuses to commit long term in the off season or is pretty clear with Conroy pre trade deadline he's not going to resign. But every other report suggests they're working on it, so don't think he'll be part of a deal at this point.

On the other hand, it feels like the right play to move Andersson now if they can get Cozens. Shore up their centre position completely, hopefully get a guy like Ekblad in the offseason and let Parekh and their other D prospects transition into the NHL. I just think it would be too tough for Conroy to do now with the leadership in the locker room and with overall team performance.

By next season the Flames are going to need to make decisions on Soloyov and Kuznetsov. Both look to be ready.

Parekh is good enough to probably play next year. They don't have to play him but if he is good enough, they should let him play. Bahl and Pachal have proven to be keepers. Weegar and Anderson are the top 2 guys, but Parekh should be in the boat soon.

This team needs to improve at center. Defense is our strength right now. Not sure if Cozens is the answer but it wouldn't hurt to give him a chance.

Parekh will need some time and size to play at the NHL level. It's a big jump. Let the Wranglers pipeline work with the kid.

He is either NHL or OHL next year too due to his DOB. Can't go to the Wranglers next year.

Another year in the O I guess unless he builds up more bulk. I'm just picturing him trying to deal with a Tom Wilson type and I don't think that ends well for the kid. Nothing to do with skill.

He’ll be fine in the NHL. It’s timing more than bulk that is going to separate him from guys like Wilson. Hughes went through the same thing and look at him now.

You are probably right but if he puts in the work, comes to camp in shape and stronger and plays very well in the pre-season, you can't send him back if he deserves it.

He's far from the smallest player on the team already.

As far as defenders go, he's definitely in the mold of the smaller more mobile offensive guys. He's already bigger than Hughes and the same size as Makar and Fox.

I doubt Parekh's primary job will be to shut down the Tom Wilson's of the other side. Parekh is the future offensive QB.

Was about to write the same thing.

NHL is changing, Zayne is already built to be the defender he is going to be. Defenders no longer need to weigh 200 pounds if they play a finesse style game.

No question. If he earns a job then he earns the job. Just don't want him rushed. Playing D is just so much harder against men. Not to mention our goaltender needs guys who can box out effectively.
