For those wanting to read about this POS:

https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/03/polit...nce/index.html

Some highlights:

Quote:
Darren Beattie, a former Donald Trump speechwriter who was fired in 2018 after CNN revealed he spoke at a conference attended by White nationalists, has been elevated to a top job at the State Department, multiple sources familiar with the move told CNN.

Beattie was appointed to serve as the acting Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, a key role that is responsible for helping shape US messaging abroad related to counterterrorism and violent extremism, according to the State Department website.
Quote:
Beattie also has made a series of racially charged comments, writing in one tweet last year, “Competent white men must be in charge if you want things to work. Unfortunately, our entire national ideology is predicated on coddling the feelings of women and minorities, and demoralizing competent white men.” He praised Dr. James Watson, the founder of modern genetics who later suggested Black people were less intelligent than White people, as the “greatest living American scientist.” Beattie repeatedly said Black lawmakers, policymakers, and groups need to “learn” their place and take “a knee to MAGA.”
I cannot believe there isn't an uprising in that country. At the same time, maybe I am just way off base in thinking that we have made any human progress in the last 100+ years. Depressing.

On the exit polls, 28% of the presidential vote was from non-whites.

Of this, a third of it was for Trump. A third of the non-white was for a man who is clearly racist.

As a visible minority I'm just so incrediby disappointed in Americans at this point I don't even know where to start.

Just watched a bs video claiming that 57% of Greenlanders want to join the U.S. It’s likely a misplaced decimal point and is really 5.7%.

There is precedent to skipping this event. Holtby, Connolly, and Smith-Pelly did not attend after the Capitals 2018 win.

This is more than political virtue signalling. On today of all days, its a slap in the face to our nation.

Who gives a ####. Are NHL hockey players not allowed to make their own decisions? They have to cater to the radical left or they are despicable human beings?

I don’t give a #### and I don’t even know what he’s talking about, but seeing someone use “radical left” unironically makes me want to disagree with them out of principle.

Of course they are allowed to make decisions. And people who pay money to see them are also free to voice their opinions about those decisions.

Ah, yes. Deciding not to visit a foreign leader who's actively trying to cripple the economy of the country you were raised in and live in 6 months of the year is catering to the radical left. What a ground breaking stance to take. I hope Holtby, Connolly, and Smith-Pelly all got their copies of the communist manifesto because they are all card carrying members in your eyes.

NHL players are allowed to do whatever the #### they want, and fans are allowed to think of them differently based on their actions. Thats how freedom of expression, some I'm sure you hold so dear to your heart, works. Great take Gordo.

Absolutely. That’s been a silver lining of the past few years - it’s so easy to spot (and instantly tune out) the MAGA muppets.

Canadians should be turning up the heat on Hockey Canada to pull out of the four nations cup. We shouldn’t embrace a tournament by playing games on American soil when our country was completely disrespected.

No, but did anyone claim they couldn't?

They don't have to cater to anyone. However, when they make a decision or action they are subject to criticism.

An insanely good man. Beautiful hockey mind. Does tons of charity work. Completely demonized by the "tolerant" left for basically nothing at all.

Keep up the good work guys.

To be honest, nothing is ever accomplished on these forums.

You didn’t offend me. It’s sad how you need to stereotype people like that.
