If your company has an employee family assistance program you can usually get a few sessions of counselling covered for free by a licensed professional. They respect patient confidentiality as well, nothing gets back to the employer about your visit(s).

Check with your GP (if you have one), they may be able to refer you to a therapist for six free sessions.

Not sure of situation but in the the mean time would Distress centre maybe help bridge the gap? Or if you have a designation, your fees might cover some form of counseling and mental health for a few sessions?

I asked a friends therapist to recommend someone and they ended up being a good fit for me. Could be worth a shot

I did reach out last week and got some help. The start of last week was pretty rough but I'm improving.

My god damn mental health is taking a beating with all this tariff teasing.
####ing put the tariffs on or STFU about them. It's impossible to conduct business with all this uncertainty.

If it helps at all, the softwood lumber tariffs that were put in place last time had a minimal impact. In fact if you look at the companies which were impacted by them their stock prices all still rose over the course of the Cheeto’s first presidency.
While it would be nice to have it all dealt with, we’ve seen this song and dance before and we as Canadians made it out just fine.

My mental health is in a great place.
Off to watch rugby and drink beer with some men that I love.
Things have really cleared up for my son and he is in a great place mentally. His struggles weighed heavily on me.
Also work is going great, will be moving in to a new role

I realize that times could be difficult for a lot of people with the coming tariffs, but a big piece of advice I would give is to turn off the news and focus on something else as much as you can. If you have Twitter on your phone or computer, delete it. It’s good to be prepared, but I was almost obsessively scrolling the news about this, and it brought my panic / anxiety disorder right back up again after a couple of years. So I’ve decided that for now, I’m steering clear of all news related to the Tangerine Tyrant because it’s not worth my mental health to stress about things that are out of my control. It doesn’t mean that I don’t think about it, but I’m in a much better headspace without watching the perpetual news cycle around it.
My algorithm is once again dumb cat videos, Norm MacDonald and Sims builds and I’m starting to feel better.

Since Covid I was struggling with the grind and stress of being a lawyer. Last Spring I did some math and made a bold decision.
My sons have left the nest, and I realized I could sell my home in Calgary, pay all my debts, and buy a nice home with cash in a small town.
I entered semi-retirement at age 58. I always wanted to be near the mountains, and found a condo near my favorite fishing in Coleman (Crowsnest Pass). My happiness is now gone from 2-3 to 10! I am outside all the time - nordic and downhill skiing, biking, hiking and flyfishing. Oldtimer hockey. I am volunteering for a couple of boards, and took a part-time job bartending at the Legion. I love it.
I had to give up my radio show, but I am only 2 hours from the City and come back easily to see family and friends. Going back to the City is strange for me now - the crowds and the traffic is almost overwhelming. My place is set up for visitors, and I have enjoyed hosting many friends and family.
My strategy will not work for everyone, but I am blessed to pursue this lifestyle. Getting plenty of sleep and exercise.
Getting out of the rat race has been so good for my health. Happy to answer questions.

If you feel trapped, you're not. Follow your bliss!
I had great support from family, friends and colleagues. We have only one life to live - why be tied to a desk?
