Like seriously having him there will add ZERO value.

I'm certain the President, and any other head of state, would have diplomatic immunity (or some similar concept) so that they can conduct their business on the global stage.

I’m also certain that it doesn’t have a lot of precedent. For historically obvious reasons…

No way Trump is denied entry into Canada, as much as I’d love to see it. Imagine the rage; if you think he’s angry now.

Also we need to let him in so we can have all those awkward non-interactions with all the other leaders. Like how Putin was shunned in 2014 at the G20 and left the meetings days early.
Bully the orange rapist bully.
yummm so much orange talk i'm going to go get myself an Orange Julius before it becomes $17.

Trump probably won't come here or cancel anyway, especially if he has to relent on the tariffs because of pressure.

Mexico sends ton of fentanyl into our country. Canada has seen a massive increase in fentanyl trafficking across its border. There are three ways of stopping this. The first is ask nicely, which we’ve done. It’s gone nowhere.
Now we’re on to the consequences phase.

Spare me the sob story about how Canada is our “best friend.” I love Canada and have many Canadian friends. But is the government meeting their NATO target for military spending? Are they stopping the flow of drugs into our country?
I’m sick of being taken advantage of.

Canada is not sending massive amounts of fentanyl across the border. Projection and stupid.

We seriously need to boycott anything that is American on Tuesday. Let's get Mexico and China in on it too. No one shop at Wal-Mart or Costco. No American fast food chains. No one use social media or better yet close their accounts. I can almost guarantee if we started spreading this on Tik Tok right now, it could happen. It would start rolling like a snowball going downhill.
I don't think there's a country in the world that has a favorable opinion of him. If he's going to screw countries that are friendly to the US, we all need to stand up to that ass clown. He wants us as the 51st state, take over Greenland, the Panama Canal and exit Nato - let's start trying to hammer his economy back to the 1930's. Honestly, it could probably tank the Dow in the week.
He's doing irrepairable harm to his government and pushing countries into the arms of China. Putin is laughing while he's watching this transpire. If the world doesn't try to take a stand against him now It will be too late.

Cleaning the streets? What is he operating a street cleaner now? He don’t give a crap about the “streets “ that the lower class lives in. He just needed a loophole so he can use tariffs as a threat. If you got rid of fentanyl tomorrow he would find another reason.

I know these are just excuses and the tariffs were inevitable. However, us not hitting our NATO target is definitely on us. We obviously didn't value that with much importance from a federal perspective.

The only legitimate point that the US has against Canada is regarding our NATO target. We should have hit that long ago. It really should be a priority. The rest is all fluff.

Right, so what is expected of us there? There was a plan in place to get back on target for 2032. Then the response was, that's too long a timeframe. Last I heard they accelerated that by several years, but it's not realistic to do it overnight. So what's the requirement, do they just want to see a commitment to doing it by X date? Or is it "tariffs stay on until you're at the NATO target"?
No one seems to be able to explain what the actual ASK is.

Yeah, I was just saying that it was the only legitimate ask. I don't think hitting the target would actually help us much other than being able to defend ourselves better. Trump is basically just making stuff up to see how much stuff he can get for how cheep.

And until fentanyl trafficking stops, which is just a red herring.
