I love the fact that Jey earned his spot.... not everyone likes him, but this is basically WWE giving Daniel Bryan the Rumble win years ago. Jey Uso got himself over. It wasn't forced or manipulated, it was a natural elevation. The difference is Uso mostly is over for his work outside the ring. He deserves to be in the main event, his nickname is not a lie.

Has the door pretty much shut on a Roman/Rock wrestlemania this year?

Lol. They picked one of the worst workers and most obnoxious dudes on the mic to win.
Good job, guys. Good job.
#### on TK all you want, but Paul deserves huge ridicule for that garbage.

My tinfoil hat booking is that Punk cashes in his favour with Hayman, turns heel and finds a way to steal the WM main event from Smelly Cat Jay Uso.

Yet he's crazy over. And it's not just the entrance, he sells a ton of merch.
It's hard to have an actual surprise winner in the Rumble now and Jey does that and can go fight Gunther.
I think people also miss that this gives some really interesting storylines now for who gets Cody's shot. Which is why they did this I think, keeps all options open for Cody, Punk, Roman, Cena, Seth, Drew, etc going into mania season.
In terms of Mania though for what we know so far it looks like:
Sami vs KO
Jey vs Gunther
Charlotte vs Rhea (my guess is she wants her win back)
But really the entire top end of the card including the top title has some real interesting build available to it now.

Alexa Bliss coming back is bigger than Charlotte IMO. Could have been perfectly okily doily fine if she never came back.
Bliss though, there's endless story lines for her to weavy her way back into #1 contendership.

I wonder if with Bliss they want to see if she can remain healthy before they give her a main event level push. Bliss vs. Liv should be a great feud, and doesn't need a Title on the line to be on Wrestlemania. Maybe a tag title match of Bliss (and Trish?) vs. Liv and Raquel?

That would make sense. I'm just surprised that WWE did pull a trigger on a winner that wasn't predictable.

One factor that I'm sure played a role in Uso winning will be his entrance at Wrestlemania. I'm sure it'll be massive... he's made friends with many celebrities, specifically Travis Scott. With the show in Vegas I expect a massive entrance for him, which is really only suitable for the main event.

Well if he wasn't so ridiculously over I'd be all in on the mock train. While I am not going to be anywhere near as invested in Jey as I have been previous Rumble winners, there is no doubt a dump truck of money attached to him.
Edit - As an aside, I don't know how far Joe Hendry goes. His ability to come up with fun ideas over and over has been something that I've always loved about him and I do think he can go as far as he wants. But that moment of coming out in front of an arena of tens of thousands of people screaming and singing for him like that, if nothing else, was a moment of a life time.

Yeah, to the best of my memory Bliss has had a series of concussions, and other injuries. CC would know best as he's Bliss's biggest fan.
I am looking forward to seeing how they're going to navigate Cena, Punk, and Reigns (can't forget Seth is lurking as well). All three want that main event spot at Wrestlemania. That was Punk's main desire, and Cena made it known at the press conference that he wants the same spot.
So unless they go the multi man route how can that happen? Let's say they have Gunther/Uso as one match, that only leaves Cody as the other possibility. There's also the expected Rhodes/Orton feud that will happen. So will they do a multi-man match to get everyone in that main event spot? Or will it be a triple threat/fatal four-way?
The Uso Rumble win has thrown all scenarios out the window. Now everyone will be tuning into Raw to see the chaos tonight. Elimination Chamber will be fascinating, as how can they make that multi man match out of that?

Denying punk's wm mian event is best for business.

I like the idea......... but what if he gets hurt? Fragile Punk is brittle. I do think a year of a pissed off heel Punk could work wonders. They could easily play off what happened in AEW and have Punk antagonize Triple H due to backstage politics. Would Punk be willing to play ball given his ego? Heel Punk versus Cena or Cody would be feuds I want to see.

Punk is 46, the oldest WM main event by my count is taker in 2017 who was 51.
Otherwise, AJ Styles, HHH, Batista, Hogan, Edge, Lesnar have all main evented well over the age of 40.
I think that there is still time to build.

Interesting thing with Punk...is that if you think back to his prime and his grievances with WWE it wasn't actually that he wanted to win the Rumble and win at Wrestlemania.
It's that he wanted to pay off his long title run with the Cena vs Punk main event and don't think he actually cared if he lost. He just wanted that story instead of the Rock vs Cena thing.
So really I actually feel like Punk defending his title st WM next year is actually fine too.

She had two extremely severe concussions, both caused by Rousey, the first one almost ended her career.
I mean in terms of injuries, she got banged up, mainly because of her small size. But the long break probably helped her out.
She didn't really have any longer of an injury list then anyone else. but concussions are a bear.
In terms of her workrate, she is pretty athletic, but she's tiny, but she's not in the ring do do a whole lot of moves, but she's still probably the best woman in the federation in terms of story telling and psychology, she's a natural heat engine that plays the crowd extremely well, and she's elite on the mic. The sad thing is that she and Bray together were extremely good and really creative.
I like her, because she's the ultimate underdog, look at her history in NXT, look at her size. I hope she does well. But yeah, when you look at the new generation of woman workers like even someone like Zoe Starks who athletics wise is unbelievable and is surpassing what Bayley or even Charlotte can do, its scary how fast the woman's division is going through changes, with some of the beasts they're bringing in.
